Can anyone tell me what it was like? Was it worth the money and how much did it cost? Is there actual Trick or Treating or is it just a party? Thank you! :goodvibes

I've never experienced it at either park but its sorta a party and yes trick or treating. I take it there is a list of shops you can trick or treat at and then they have a time where they do it on the "streets". Its always sounds so fun. Guess the best part is they do it every night in Oct that I know of so its really cool.

Hope someone has some more detailed answers for you. I started a thread not long ago about it so if you haven't read through it(I'm only about half way through myself, forgot I posted it) and lots of wonderful photos were posted in there.

There you go: our Halloween Super Thread in the making.

I love it. Have been going for the past two years and going again this year. Okay, I am a tourist - it's easy to get me excited. ;)

There's Trick or Treat stations scattered throughout the parks. Several dance areas and photo stops with characters too.

The price depends on the date, the closer you get to Halloween the more expensive the tickets get. I think Halloween itself was $ 42 for adults last year, but I am not 100 percent sure.

Is it worth the money... yes for me. There's tons of candy. I've heard reports that the quality of candy has gone down, but I was happy. At least two stations were handing out Ghiradelli chocolate, that was good enough for me. ;)

Also there are some characters out that I have never met in the parks. Last year the party was the only chance you had to get a photo with Jack Sparrow for example, and I never met Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters in the parks either.

OH WOW!! Thank you both so much and for the link!! That sounds like so much fun we will have to try that!!!

my partner and I have been going for a few years and we love it! last year we dressed up for the first time and it made the experience so much more! I really recommend it.... this year we are actually even going to bring the kids...lol
We are total tourists also!

I have been thinking of ideas of what are whole family could dress up as! I do have some time, but ya know! My mind is spinning with ideas!! :cool1:

Linda, the ToTP don't start until October. I thought you were going the last week of Sept? We LOVED to ToTP last year. Definitely worth it, but it gets expensive with our big families. The tickets are the same price fir kids or adults. Send me a message on FB if you wanna pick my brain about a Halloween trip.

Correct. Unless DLR changes its usual patterns for the start and end of Halloweentime this year (and you never know what that sneaky Disney might do, as currently they show the 2010 Christmas holiday season beginning on a Tuesday and not on a Friday like it has always begun!!:scared1::scared1:), then Halloweentime season should officially begin on Friday, September 24th, and the TOTP should begin exactly one week later, on Friday, October 1st.

But you never know - due to the fact that they are debuting World of Color in DCA this year (in June, I think?), and Disney wants lots of people to be able to see that, the schedule may be affected in some way for the TOTP. Given the nights that the TOTP usually occurs, some of those nights are going to be big nights for crowds at DLR in general, and Disney probably doesn't want to have to close DCA early and prevent all the general masses from seeing WoC on a Friday or weekend night - unless they run WoC exclusively for the TOTP attendees, that is! So that may impact things in some way. This is uncharted territory for us, as DCA has never had a huge nighttime spectacle of a show like this before. We don't know what will happen. Perhaps they may extend the TOTP and begin it when Halloweentime begins. Perhaps they won't start Halloweentime in September at all this year and will just begin everything on October 1st. I wouldn't even trust any dates on the DLR website right now. It's too early. Things are always subject to change.

I would say that we should know the exact Halloweentime and TOTP schedule in about 3 months, as it was July of last year when the offical dates and Halloweentime agenda were released.

Maybe they will do some sort of Halloween WoC that would be really neat. Or maybe prices maybe more to the ToTP and the draw will be lower crowds for the WoC. I don't know how likely that is but it seems like they are trying to add more of draw to the park and then if they continue to have special things there it will make it more quaint like the DL "feel". I'm planing to leave that Sunday the 26th and stay until Oct. 2nd.
What kind of hours and closures should I expect
?

A Halloween WoC would be really cool (and, of course, I say that when I haven't even seen the original WoC yet!!:rotfl2:). I don't know if they would debut a Halloween WoC right away, so soon after WoC debuts, but you never know.

What normally happens is that DCA closes at 6 p.m. on TOTP nights, and they put up any extra decorations and get everything set up, and then the TOTP begins at 7:30 p.m., lasting until 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. (can't recall which). I think DCA is planning to start extending the hours a bit this year, opening up earlier in the morning and closing a little bit later at night, but if the TOTP is still going to be an exclusive event to ticket holders they would still have to close DCA at 6 p.m., I assume.

Also, Disney decided that they are going to close the Paradise Pier portion of DCA (which is where Toy Story Midway Mania is located) at night, to focus solely on WoC. Paradise Pier is always left open during the TOTP. So again, if they decide to run WoC during the TOTP, they may leave Paradise Pier closed the whole evening. But if they don't show WoC during the TOTP, then I am sure Paradise Pier will stay open.

Again, in July is when we will most likely get the definitive schedule with dates and list of events for Halloweentime and the TOTP. Right now, I have no clue what they are planning to do with the TOTP and WoC. Hmmmm.....
