I have seen it in several stages of development on the outside but I have no idea what the inside is like. Any ideas?

It is suppose to be an expedition to the top of a mountain and then a Yeddie (sp?) is there to scare the heck out of you and your nice expedition ride turns into a roller coaster! We learned all about it on our VMK tour the other day, very cool!

All I know is I heard it goes backwards at one point, which did it for me not wanting to try it. I think I would either puke or pass out!

Think Big thunder mnt RR meets the MUMMY and you have it.

And a YETI big hairy snow beast

Like, it'll be this big mountain thing.

It'll go like real high up, ya know?

And it looks like this kinda regular mountain outside but inside it'll be like real creepy and dark, like Space Mountain or something, maybe.

It'll be real fast and stuff, but I heard it'll kinda stop and then go backwards maybe for awhile but I don't know if its real fast backwards, but then it goes frontwards again and fast and everything.

Oh yeah, like the backwards part is because there's this scary thing that looks kinda like a creepy furry big bear kinda guy, so it MAKES you go like "WHOA" and backwards kinda fast, and stuff.

I'm SO ready to try this ride. Like I wanna go so bad, right NOW.
But I've got to wait until it opens and stuff.

Cool!, the Mummy is the best ride at any park anywhere in the country.

So, does anyone else think this is going to essentially be WDW's faster scarier version of the Matterhorn? Sounds kinda familiar, big snowy mountain, a yeti.

This ride and Mission Space are the 2 I'm most looking forward to for next July's trip.

It's all fenced off but u can see the entrance to the line and fast pass distribution area. As u get closer to the ride there is concept art posted on the fence, and some stuff about Disney conservation in that part of the country. I talked to the cast member posted near the ride and she told us it was going to have an 80 ft drop and go 50mph. She also told us it would go backwards ,but I understood that it would be a forward or a backward train, not both in one. That makes more sense and sounds really kool!

The first time i got on the mummy I had no idea it went backwards. Neither did my dad! I loved it! My dad, well, when we got off, he vowed NEVER 2 ride it again!! That moment was golden!!!

Does anyone know what the height requirement will be? I want to take our 5 year old who LOVED Thunder Mt. Railroad last trip, but don't know what the requirement will be.

I saw the coaster operating last week and they were all going forward. I've got a picture that i'd like to post, however i'm still not done unpacking. :rotfl2:

The CM by the ride said Spring '06...he did not state a definitive date, but someone on a similar thread has posted an official opening date in April.

5 may be a bit to small simply for the fact the ride goes 50mph but then again i'm not an expert.

DVC members will have a preview of Everest on Super Bowl weekend, so we have our fingers crossed for some kind of soft opening during Feb vacation (Pres Week). Not sure about the whole backward thing though-- the Maelstrom's backward is about as much as I can handle... any CMs wanna help us out with details?
