So what does your family think of Disneyland?

We all love Disney. Not too many days go by when someone doesn't pop up out of the blue saying "I miss Disneyland." My hubby and girls love to ask what new little tidbits I have heard about on the disboards.

When my family and I get back from a trip to DL we practically have to go through grief counseling. My daughter told me last year that she missed DL so much it physically hurt.

we have our kids' height lines on the wall, but ours are marked at 42", 46" and 48" so they can check to see when they are tall enough for Indy and Screamin' !!!:lmao:

That is just hilarious because we do the same thing! We have their height lines marked off in both the kitchen and on the wall in my office.:rotfl:

My dad doesn't get it but my mom loves it like I do. Maybe not as much but she does love it. My kids love it although I don't think my stepdaughter loves it as much as the little ones do (she is 15). Dh likes it but again I don't think he is as obsessed as I am.

A lot of people I know don't understand the obsession but I don't care. That is on them. It is my favorite place in the world and there is no other place like it!

awww - we probably all 'really' feel that way....i'm actually having "Disney withdrawal pains"

My dh tolerates my obsession with the LAND. My kids are just like me -- completely over the top with all things Disney. I think their friends think they are bit odd because they compare everything to Disneyland.
Here are examples of things they have said.

"Do you know your bathroom kinda smells like POTC?"

"Where's the hidden mickey on the zoo's carousel?"

"WHAT?? You've never been to DL? That's just sad. You should come with us next time."

I've converted my mom into a DLR nut, and she wants to tag along each time we go. The rest of my family thinks we're stuck in a rut because we only vacation at DLR! :rotfl:

OH! Yes, that's what my kids do too! My daughter finds hidden Mickeys everywhere, and my son turned to me on an escalator and said, "I'm riding BTMRR in my head."

My family loves Disneyland. I grew up in Riverside, CA and we would go all the time. When we moved to Idaho I did not go as often....maybe once a year if that. Now that I am married and my MIL lives in California we try to go at least 3-4 times a year.
I love the attention to detail in Fantasyland and I love the fact that we can just walk right on over to CA if DL gets crazy busy. DH does prefer WDW over DL. I think it is because WDW is more of a vacation and DL is a long weekend. It is more relaxing.
We are currently planning on moving back to CA....depending on when and if DH gets accepted into the CHP academy.
I am really looking forward to all the DL trips once we move!

I too am DL obsessed. Been about 8-10 times (I had a few short day trips and 1/2 day trips when I would travel to Anaheim on business). Never been to WDW but hope to when ds is older.

Now DH isn't as DL obsessed, but he definitely looks forward to going every 3-4 years. He just smiles and nods when I go on-and-on about all the things that I'm learning on this board.

Our ds is almost 2 so he will be introduced to DL for the first time this summer. He already knows most of the characters and keeps asking me for "Mickey Hug" - so cute!

I am so much the same way. In fact, all day today I have had this little hurt inside me, since exactly four weeks ago at this time we arrived at Disneyland. All day, I have just felt sad, depressed and yes it does hurt. Silly, I know but I am powerless to change it! And my husband is the same way so we are perfect for each other except our bank account has nobody to police it from Disney withdrawls either!
