I'd love to get more mileage out of my tent this year, but for now I'm just by my lonesome and traveling solo anywhere gets expensive pretty fast, especially on a dirt-poor student's budget.
PolynesianPixie, are you by chance going to Damascus to ride the Creeper Trail? If so, where do you camp in Damascus? Would love to talk to you about the facilities there.
As for our camping plans, I've started a new job with limited time off so our plans are sparse this year ...
Some time in April at Hagan-Stone Park in Greensboro to meet with family. Then hopefully monthly at the same location.
August in Port St. Lucie, FL, to help our son move.
September at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach.
Hopefully Thanksgiving again in Myrtle Beach.
With only 20 days off work per year, our travel plans have to be considerably shortened. Hopefully lots of long weekend trips.
Just came back from a week at Lake Whitney (McCown Valley) - Texas. It was great!
May 27 - June 2 Lake Somerville - Texas
June 14 - Bastrop State Park - Texas
June 24 - 29 - Turner Falls - Oklahoma
July 2 - 9 - North Toledo Bend State Park - Louisiana
Late July - Lake Somerville
Labor Day - Lake Somerville
Thanksgiving - Guadalupe State Park, Texas or Lake Somerville (if son playing in football playoffs)
December 20 - 30 - THE FORT
We have two trips to the Fort planned, one in Oct and one in Nov (or perhaps late Dec, can't remember now). With the new baby on the way, kind of had to cut down on trips a bit.
