"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

I LOVE that Full House episode  I just taped it the other day!! Sooo cool that you got to do fun events like that one---even though the woman was crazy! :goodvibes

Great Update and some good informations for the new DVC members, which is me!

I think I am going to get Hubby to go to Welcome Home Wednesday, I am not sure if the kids would have as much fun as we might.

Loving the updates Sarah, I been MIA around here for the last few weeks b/c I've been super busy! Your TR definitely gave me my Disney fix!

Wow Miss Dee Vee Cee is just a tad annoying. I can't imagine putting up with those antics for so long :scared1: I too love the Boardwalk area. It's just so calm and serene. Great updates :thumbsup2

Just a tad?! LOL. I think Dad was getting more annoyed with her than me. But yeah, she was nuts.

Holy cow-you are cranking out the updates and I got behind!

I'm glad you got to have a DIS meet. I think it would be great fun to have one!

We were in Epcot this day!! We left around 4ish so you would've already been at WHW at BWV. Thanks for the info on that, we might try to get over there...will check the plans!

I'm glad I finally had a DIS meet too. It was a blast meeting Rachel. :thumbsup2

Cool! Maybe we passed you on our way out. haha I think it's funny reading TRs of people who were there at the same time as us. I am waiting for the day when I see myself in someone else's picture or vice versa.

The Full House episode never gets old. Every time I see it's on I have to watch it even though I have it on DVD.

haha, that's right! Have fun if you do end up going to WHW!

Thanks, glad you are enjoying my updates. Next one (and final one for our first day!) is coming up...

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 cont'd (part 9)

Well DIS friends, I've finally made it to the end of our first full day. The good news is there's still 4 full days left and at the rate I'm going I might be done by Christmas (which by then we'll hopefully have a better idea of when exactly our next trip is!).

After attending Welcome Home Wednesdays, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat (even though we just had those snacks at WHW...). When my parents and sister were there in January, they got some pizza from a little window on the Boardwalk. When we were talking to Mom and Claire earlier they said it was really good so I decided to give it a shot. Not that there was much chance of me not liking it since it is pizza. The place serves it whole or by the slice. Dad got pepperoni and I got cheese. It was pretty good pizza! Oh yeah, as I was pulling out my chair the seat fell off which was a bit embarrassing...OOPS. :rolleyes1 Atleast I hadn't sat on it yet.

As I mentioned we stopped at one more place before going back to our resort and that was Downtown Disney! We always seem to have trouble finding time to go to DTD so it was cool going our first day instead of our last like it seems usually happens. So we headed out to the front of the Boardwalk to catch a bus.

It didn't take too long for a bus to come and we were on our way. Once we arrived we hit the usual stores: World of Disney, Pin Traders, and Team Mickey. OK, not-so-random story that I have to share. A while ago I received an email about the Disney Store website selling theme park merchandise. A few weeks ago I got one about these college t-shirts with the school logo and Mickey Mouse on them. Well, as you've probably figured out we are big sports fans so I was pretty excited when I saw those. They were adorable! I knew they would never have Marquette seeing that it's a private school and not big enough anyway but was hoping they might have my "adopted" team, the University of Michigan (remember that's where my dad went to school). Sadly, they only had a handful of schools, and UM wasn't one of them. It really didn't make any sense to me since it's a HUGE school and has tons of fans (despite the lack of a football team the last couple years but that's beside the point...). I ended up sending a message to the Disney Store saying they should expand the line and mentioned how I'd like a Michigan t-shirt. Surprisingly I did get a response back from someone and she said she wasn't sure if or when a UM shirt would be available. Imagine my surprise when we walked into Team Mickey and discovered this, only the best Mickey t-shirt ever. LOL!

I mean, seriously, how cute is that?! I was actually pretty excited so of course I had to get one. Funny how things work out like that...maybe they listened to my email. haha Most of the schools they had were from the south (UNC, Florida, Alabama, LSU) but I know I have a couple Buckeye fans reading and they had OSU available as well.

Oh yes, and just a note for AP holders too if you're not aware, you can get a discount on merchandise. I found that it kind of depended on the store :confused3 but it was between 10-20%. Always nice when you like to shop in WDW.

One other goal I had for this trip was to finally get over to the West Side since we had never done it before. I have to say it kind of reminds me of City Walk at Universal since it's not really Disney stores. We spotted the Harley Davidson store which reminded me of home (even though I really don't care for Harleys...I must really be a bad Wisconsinite).

There was a little bit of a party going on:

The last store we visited was the new D-Street, which is supposedly the vinylmation headquarters in WDW. If you like vinylmation then you'd be in heaven there. It was wall-to-wall vinyls! I liked this little case that showed all of the figures ever made.

Surprisingly, I didn't spend a dime there but I did find a couple things I might want to get for my sisters.

And what trip to DTD would be complete without a picture of our "home?"

Can't wait to stay there again!

So after our long day it was finally time to call it a night. It was still kind of early but we had been up early! We hopped on the bus at the West Side and headed back to the resort. When we got back to Kidani we had to check out the savanna. These guys were there waiting for us:

And the lodge:

There were a couple giraffes out in the distance wandering around...my favorite!

Then we just relaxed in our room for the rest of the night and watched the American Idol results show. LOL! For my fellow AI junkies, that was the week Big Mike got the save. Can't wait for the finale next week.

Overall it was an amazing day. We certainly covered a LOT of ground:
-Magic Kingdom for EMH
-Epcot
-Boardwalk
-Downtown Disney

Total time without a break was something like 13 hours.:eek: Crazy! I think because the weather was so nice it was easier to walk around. But I was looking forward to being able to sleep in a little the following morning.

up next: Hollywood Studios!!

I wonder if they have those Mickey shirts in Pro Football Teams... I'm not a college girl (I went Valpo...we only had basketball!) but I'd love a Philadelphia Eagles one!

What a packed but fun first day you had! I love those Mickey college shirts too, but unfortunately they don't have a Sooners one :sad2:

The Mickey college t-shirts are very cute! I'll never see my college on a shirt, it's too small haha. So I definitely think Disney should explore making the shirts for NFL and MLB teams :)

Boy, that was a busy, but GREAT day. In a way we didn't have any breaks, but the monorail rides, WHW, Boardawalk and bus rides did provide a change of pace.

It's really something to think that we did all of that stuff and still were back to the hotel by about 8PM, only 14 hours after we left. If we had been out to prove something, we could easily have done something else, like return to Epcot for Illuminations. But, after being up so early two days in a row, the early return and relaxation set us up to be in good shape the next day. And, with DHS opening officially at 9 AM, we knew we could sleep a little later on Thursday.

Welcome Home Wednesday sounds fun! I hope we make it over there. Your pictures of the Boardwalk are so pretty!

I had to You Tube the Full House Disney episodes, but I do vaguely remember them...I used to watch that all the time so I don't know where I was when these were on TV. Maybe I had to push those out of my brain to make room for other things. :confused3

What a great first day!

That's so cool that the UM shirt ended up coming out! I wish they'd have them with NFL teams or other pro teams since I'm not a big college sports girl but definitely love me some NY Yankees and NY Giants :thumbsup2

You guys got so much done in one day!!

Ahhh Kidani...I miss it there so much :cloud9:

That UM shirt is cute!

I can't believe how much you got done in one day! That's awesome. I hope we can replicate your success in June!

Count me as a "bad Wisconsinite" too... :rolleyes1

Great update!:thumbsup2 Wow! You really accomplished a lot your first day! Love the UM shirt!! Very cool!!:goodvibes

Love the shirt! You must be pretty powerful getting them to create it for you;) Love all the pictures of AKV too. Can't wait to stay there in October!

 I just found those Mickey shirts on the Disney Store website a few days ago. I was SHOCKED that there's an Ohio State version. We barely give our merchandising rights to anyone. But I will DEFINITELY be buying one of those in July. I thought about ordering it from the website, but Disney's sizing is so weird that I'd rather see it in person. But atleast I'll have it before football season starts. :thumbsup2

PS: Michigan's lack of a football team the past few years is GREAT. I hope it stays like that forever. ;)

So....I'm REALLY late to the party. Not just fashionably late as usual. ;) 28 pages late! But, I'm here! And I WILL catch up. I'm looking forward to it all!

I got all caught up! :yay: Surprisingly, Henry is enjoying playing by himself today, so that allowed me a good amount of DIS time. Loving the TR! You two are getting so much done! It's nice to be able to cruise through the attractions when you are a small party. And WOOT WOOT on the Michigan shirt! That shirt is really cute!!! :thumbsup2

I love those Mickey college shirts! That's cool they have a Michigan one now!

Okay, please explain the whole vinylmation thing to me. I don't get it! :flower3:
