I can totally understand the owners of this board wanting to protect their interests. What I don't understand is others, who say they love this board and the people who populate it, jeapordizing those interests. We'll have to wait and see if we get any kind of explanation which, BTW and just in my humble opinion, we aren't really owed. We just post here - we're guests. We have no monetary investment in this enterprise and, therefore, are not in any position to be demanding anything.

And before I'm called a kiss-up, I suggest you double check my assessment with any legal counsel. They'll tell you I'm right.

For those who have asked about a timeline: Soon, I hope. There have been a couple of times over the last few days when I thought we were within minutes of being able to talk. I don't dare try to guess anymore, but I hope that it's very soon.

Without a large community of active members willing to invest time and emotion in keeping this a thriving site TPTB wouldn't have a revenue stream from their advertisers. You might want to double check that with any business owner. They'll tell you I'm right, too.

This is going to be one of those without tone of voice, body language etc. to go along with the message you can't tell in what way it was intended statements so I'll preface it by saying that it is said without snark.

How is asking questions or saying you are frustrated, upset or angry with the situation jeopardizing the interest of the board owners? No one can force them to make a statement but no one can force others to not be upset by a lack of response either.

I have been a long time lurker.

Througout the years I check in everyday to read the new posts.

I have laughed, prayed and cried because of some of the posts.

I have not made any strong personal friends on the boards but consider the frequent posters as friends. I've read about the ups and downs of all.

I am not completely sure of what has transpired here, however wanted to send my support to all those who have lost strong connections. I too am saddened to not read or be able to support posters that have been here for a long time. Not sure of what the other site is and will not investigate either since all the information I need I can almost always be certain that I can find the answer here.

I wish that this all ends on a positive note, and that all the posters who wish to return are welcomed back with open arms.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. The 50+ people who were initially banned, some of whom were on vacation when this happened, did not conspire to commit some crime against the DIS or it's owners. To allow it to look like they did, especially when that group included people who were incredibly helpful with trip planning info and who helped build this board, is not right. They do not deserve that implication.
