I agree.
I am another person who does not really have friends on the boards, so I'm not really sad exactly. I come here for a laugh, for political debates, for discussion and planning about WDW, to get some commentary on the day's news, etc.
I also sometimes skim the board-which-shall-not-be-named. Sometimes this provides more laughs, or cues me in to a ongoing discussion on the DIS which I have a strong opinion about. And sometimes I find things there which are rude and offensive. Whatever--I choose to read it and I have on occasion chosen to respond and if I don't like it I can choose to stop looking at it. And since the DIS rules don't apply there I can also go and tell people exactly why I disagree with them in adult language if I choose.
So I'm not sad or mourning friends or any of that. I'm just ticked off as a matter of principle. Who in the heck are the powers that be at the DIS to tell me (or anyone else) what I can and cannot say in places other than the DIS?
And on top of the issue of principle, it's just simply been amazingly boring on the DIS since the-event-which-will-not-be-spoken-of. So even from a completely self-interested point of view, I'm ticked that the boards are now so uninteresting (except of course for the threads that keep getting poofed).
