Nada. Unless you count my dad paying for me (which I appreciate VERY much) to fly home to see my Grandma who had a severe stroke. Plus I get to see my dad again!

I do have a lot of things to be VERY thankful for (see my picture) but today in general really stinks over all and no, it isn't about lack of gifts. My oldest son is in Seattle, I have little to no contact w/my mom and sister who are here (we've been home from a long trip to Alaska since early Nov and we haven't seen them. I have a restraining order again my sister's BF so I can't go over there). Dh had to work. He is home now but sick and in bed. I am just having a woah is me moment right now

I am thankful for the new little man in my life and that my Grandma is *slowly* showing some improvement AND that I can go back and see her sooner then later.

Oh, my God! That is one cute baby!!! Cute outfit and blankie, too.

My favorite gift this year is from my friend's son. She doesn't have a ton of dough to throw around and knows full well that there is nothing I need or want. So, she takes her 2 boys to the dollar store and lets them pick me out one thing each. We still have the spirit of Christmas, they get to give me a gift and I get to give them one...it's all good.

Her 6 year old, after checking out everything, decided the best gift for me would be...and this is my favorite this year ....

...a whoopie cushion.

How did he know?!

I just love kids.

A whole bunch of stuff that I wasn't expecting.. I really didn't expect to get anything - except the things that I got for myself - aka "gifts from Heaven" .. They were 5 Jodi Picoult books; a shirt; the Epcot Illuminations CD; and refills for my special pen..

From others, I got all kinds of Disney scrapbook materials; writing stationary; 2 seasons of "Little House On The Prairie" DVD's; 3 calendars (one with photo's inserted in it for each month); an adorable little snowman pin (that my DGD made herself); this really, really neat Thomas Kinkade set that has 2 CD's, a DVD and 6 post cards; a Disney address book (forgot to mention that in the Disney thread); jewel cases; blank CD's & DVD's; special edition of People Magazine - "Gone Too Soon"; ink and photo paper for my Epson PictureMate Snap printer; 3 computer games; and I can't remember what else..

It was really too much, but greatly appreciated..

Merry Christmas Everyone.... Usually DH and I dont really exchange gifts and we spent mostly on our DD's. It was a magical morning and we really enjoyed watching them open their presents and play all day with them!!

But here's what I got:
soap, body wash, slippers and pjs! My DD's made cute gifts at school for us.....a tree made of little pots and a plant holder!
DH got me a cool T-shirt which says Got Dressage? and a beautiful horse pin,
and as a joint gift we got an air purifyier for the house.


Now here is a little vent...please excuse this....feel free to skip over this part. Money was a little tight this year and I didn't go completely overboard with gifts for my DD's. What they did receive was nice stuff though and we are all quite content!!!!! Well my DD's friend came over today to play for an hour or so. I am friendly with the mom. However, she came over and for an hour went into huge detail over all the gifts their kids got...a segway ($3000-$4000??) and diamond this and gold that, and TV and VCR's and games and toys and Disney trips and other vacation plans, tickets to High School Musical and Ariel in NYC etc. ad nausium! I just smiled sweetly and uhh'd and ahhh'd in all the appropriate places. OK so the bottom line here is this....she came over specifically to tell me all this when she knows money is tight on our end...she ended up looking like she was bragging and it was a bit hurtful in that regard in my opinion. Am I being overly sensitive????? Another mutual friend is totally disgusted with her and her priorities and won't have anything to do with her anymore.
