We will have the free dining and are planning the restaurants. What do you think of Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot? Pros? Cons? Good? Bad? Worth the TS points?

Thanks guys!

Thank you so much Bob. I haven't been around the WDW threads for awhile. I knew someone could steer me in the right direction.

I really like Restaurant Marrakesh. It is a good choice for something different as there are not Morrocan restaurants on every corner (at least where I live). I thought the food was great and it's easy to get an ADR.

Ds actually chose this restaurant last year for his birthday dinner! We really like it and went back in January too. Its good food (not overly spicy or wierd) and they have entertainment. I also thought their waiters were some of the nicest in all of WDW.

My review is elsewhere this site.

I got one of the feasts. The appetizers and desert on it were really good. They served the appetizers and the entree portion of it all at once. Those that ordered appetizers seperate (the feast comes with its own) got their appetizers first.
The Lemon Chicken came out looking like it was precooked and had been sitting in a warmer. It looked pretty much like it had been baked in one of those steel inserts at a buffet. But it wasn't cooked through. And my luck it's the one time I decided to play Viking to make the kid laugh. GROSS!!!! Even when it came back ok, it was bland. And no I didn't expect it to knock my mouth off with spice. This just was incredibly bland.
The Lamb was really good. But that was because it's nearly impossible to mess up lamb shoulder unless you serve it like I got the chicken above. It too had no spice.
Another in the party got Lemon chicken. Hers had to be sent back too.
The wife got the kbobs. The sauce tasted like they poured a can of contadina on it and that's it. They were dry as could be. My son ordered off the kid's menu, which was nothing but hamburgers or mac n cheese. Have you ever seen a kid leave a french fry? Well I hadn't, until we ate there. I scolded him because he said it was yucky.
OK ENOUGH SON. I'M GOING TO TASTE IT AND WHEN IT TASTES GOOD, YOU'RE GOING TO EAT IT.....
(cough gag cough..) Ok well I'm going to try these frys (cough, Gag, Cough). Ok son you can nibble off my plate.
The Band was nice. They only play for about 10 minutes. Then the belly dancer comes out. The Belly Dancer comes out and it's a good show. She really was good with the little girls who came out on stage at her invite to
dance too.

Oh I'm sure it's not as bad as we experienced and we hit it on a bad night. But with all the other places to go in the world, we're not going back any time soon and risk that. The only table service I wouldn't go back to on Disney so far. I would, on on occasion where I really wasn't that hungry, duck in late for a Crepes Atlas. Those were really good.

It's tied for my fave restaurant at Disney (my other #1 is Portobello Yacht Club). We've eaten at practically all Disney restaurants, and so I really think the food, service and atmosphere is great!

Always a must do each and every trip - my baby ate tons of couscous last trip, so she loves it too!

It's a must for us, too (well, mostly me ;) ). DH likes it, too, but he has other favorites. Delicious food and a wonderful ambience - it's definitely worth a TS credit, IMO.

That is an awesome picture of the tower and it says from the CR tower. I am new here so I don't know all the codes yet.

I wasn't overly thrilled with this place but part of it, I think, was because I got a little "motion sickness" right before I went there for dinner.

I will say that the kids menu and food was absolutely atrocious. It was very limited. My DS ordered a hamburger and it was like the poster above described--virtually inedible. I got an appetizer. It was some dough/meat thing that had sugar on top. It really turned my stomach; however, remember I had the motion sickness going.

The two teens in my party split a kabob platter and they seemed to like it, along with the rice. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees. It was a blur to me--don't even remembered what I ordered but I was not "wowed" at all. Again, it may have been that I wasn't feeling good.

It seems like maybe this restaurant is getting mixed reviews. Either you really like it or you don't. Interesting.

We really like this restaurant. It is a must for each trip.
We find the food to be good, the decor is beautiful, and the servers are warm and friendly.
Give it a try!!!!

We love it. We have gone many times, and never had a bad meal. Sometimes there is less than attentive waitstaff. I'm not so keen on the bellydancer. It's fun and all, but so loud. But the food and other atmosphere makes up for all of that.

They serve food there? I dunno, I always sort of tune everything else out when the belly dancer appears.

we try to do new places every year, but this is a must for us. our entire family loves it. good food, great atmosphere, & the show is a lot of fun.

Weird, I know, but my 10 year old son was *terrified* of the belly dancer. :teeth:
