Well, as I've mentioned before, we're going to WDW in June for my daughter's 5th Birthday. And we had intended to keep it secret until shortly before the trip.

Welp, that lasted about 2 weeks. :)

This morning, DW and I are in the Kitchen doing some dishes together when she casually asked: "How's saving for the Disneyworld trip going?"

I just as casually answered "Well! We should have it payed off by mid-March."

We both froze, realizing what we did and hoping our DD didn't hear. No such luck. All of a sudden, DD runs in, shouting "DISNEYWORLD!!!???? DISNEYWORLD!!!????"

Well, the mouse ears are out of the bag now! So we tell her she's going for her BD. At least now I don't have to hide the stuff anymore. And we can share our excitement with her, so it's all good.:woohoo:

Well, at least now you will get your monies worth out of her anticipation of the trip. Her birthday celebration will last for 4 months, that will be fun!

Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

AWwwwwwwwwhhh that's so cute. Hope you have an awsome trip.

Well so far, DD is very excited and asking a lot of questions, but she seems to be handling the excitment fine. We'll see how she is when the trip is a few weeks out!

At least now you don't have to worry about spilling da beans anymore!!!

The only trip I was able to keep a secret was one that we planned 10 days before leaving...and then my kids were a little upset for telling a "white lie" in order to get them to the airport at 6am(not too upset since we were going to Disney!)

Have fun planning and enjoy your trip:goodvibes

Hah, ha, it's been really hard to plan this trip without the kids finding out. My twelve year old keeps phishing for answers about the ''secret'' vacation we keep talking about. So today, I acted like they were to smart for me and told them that their Mother and I were planning a suprise trip to St.Louis to spend a few days going to the zoo and Six Flags. Now at least they'll quit phishing because they think they figured it out. And their mother and I can plan a little less discretely around them. They'll been none the wiser since we are actually staying in STL the night before we fly out to Orlando. Sorry, didn't mean to swerve this thread.

Nah! I love hearing stories like that! TBH, I'm glad she knows now. I'm like a kid in a candy store on this trip. My wife is also excited, but she is a more reserved person than I am. And being a 41-year-old man, a lot of my male friends don't share my enthusiam for Disney. I've promised my daughter we'll cuddle up in front of the TV and watch the vacation Planning DVD tonight. I can't wait to see her face!

I think the excitement is almost as fun as the trip itself! We aren't going again for 1 1/2 years for dd's 7th b'day and are already talking about it;)

Have a great time! and yipee on paying it off months in advance!

At least you had gotten the right reaction from her, LOL!

I told our DS4 the day we were leaving. His reaction? I want to go back to sleep! What  ???!!! He was mad that I woke him up early! I kept telling him that we are going to meet up with Daddy in Disney World for vacation not picking him up from the airport as he originally thought. Didn't phase him at all. That was until he was awake enough and received his very special call from Mickey Mouse (Disney Enchanted Call). Then it registered as to where he was going!

Enjoy your trip! She will love it!

Don't forget to stop and get her a Birthday Button to wear on her big day. I got one last week and it was so much fun to have everyone wish me a Happy Birthday! The folk at Giradelli's at Downtown Disney actually announced it on the overhead and sang to me. DD10 & her DBFF just loved it!!

It's so hard not to spill da beans isn't it?

DH did it today, he told my mother that my daughter was pregnant with #3. He didn't know she didn't know and he thought he was being cute asking my GD age 5 where she was going to sit in our car now that we needed to get another car seat. Great granma figured out what he meant, and doesn't approve, she thinks everyone should only have 2 kids and tells you every chance she gets.

I sure hope I don't get that way when I get old. Although I am old to most of you, thanks for letting me vent. It is exciting to have another baby on the way, I thought there wouldn't be anymore! :cutie:

Thanks for all the nice words!

I just bought our airline tickets today... it feels a little more real now. DD is very excited, but managable so far :).
