So very sad......UPDATE pg. 2

:grouphug:

:guilty:

I am soooo sorry what bad news on vacation!!! At least your doggy died suddenly and did not suffer through a terrible ordeal with pain and agony...

I know it will be hard but remember the good things about your "baby" and celebrate his/her life while you are there!

I will say a little prayer for you and your doggy! :dog:

I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose our pets. Many years ago, I had left my dog with my parents while we were away. My poor little fur baby had to be put to sleep while we were gone. It hurt us to know we weren't there but we also know he was in good care. I am sure your "guy" knows you loved him.

I am really very sorry. The Rainbow Bridge has gotten me through some tough times as well. We have had 4 beloved pets die all within 5 years of each other.

I know it sounds nearly impossible, but try to enjoy the time you have left of your vacation.. then when you get home, maybe you and your family can do something special as a memorial to your beloved pet.

:grouphug: I am so sorry about the loss of your Fur-Baby.

UPDATE - We had a family meeting before we came home from WDW and decided we wanted a new puppy. The day after we returned we picked out a sweet little girl - we named her Molly. She's 10 weeks old and she's very much like a miniature version of our white lhasa that we lost. Except that she has a "raccoon mask". She's not a replacement - she's a new fur baby to love and cherish.

I still miss our Oscar and I'm sure I always will. The first thing I did after returning home was to visit his little grave on an Ozark hillside next to our house. It overlooks a lovely view of a wooded valley. He loved sitting on our deck gazing over the hills, so I'm sure he's happy there.

Thank you all for your support. It got me through a couple of very difficult days while I was far from home. It was SO appreciated. Thanks again.

This is Molly, our new fur baby. She's a 10 wk old Lhasa-Bichon mix. And SO sweet.

I'm sorry this had to happen to you and your family, let alone while on vacation. That is a fear of mine. As our dog ages it's always in the back of my mind that it could happen while we are away!

Again, I'm sorry, but I'm glad you all got another one. :grouphug:

Again, sorry for your loss. Hope you have many happy years with Molly. She is a beauty!!! :paw:

Congratulations on bringing Molly into your family! She is a beauty.

Today is the 7th anniversary of our Rosie's gotcha day. Rosie is our buff cocker spaniel rescue girlie who came to live with us on Halloween in 1998.

Isn't she a cutie? We've had many rescue dogs in the past - that's how we originally got Oscar. Our neighbors left him outside to fend for himself at only 5 months. He was just a tiny little fellow and hardly and "outside" dog. So we took him. And he stole my heart as no other.

We also have an American fox hound right now that was a rescue (bad hip), along with a silver gray toy poodle. Molly is the first pet we've actually gotten from a breeder in a very long time. We had actually gone to look at another little female "giveaway" who was lacking a rear foot, but Molly just spoke to us with a big TAKE ME HOME. So we did. :flower: No contest, we couldn't resist. She's asleep next to me right now, cuddled up against our poodle who is playing "Mom" to her.
