Great, right? Well normally yes. But it seems on the last field trip of the summer, DS managed to acquire his very first, in living color, BLACK EYE!!!!!!!

Talk about making a first impression!! :rotfl:

His teacher was dear, she has been teaching for 17 years, and told me, "Don't worry, Mrs Ian's Mom, I've seen it all"

He is going to have one heck of a shiner in the morning. We are icing it down as we speak, and the Nurse at his peds office advised some Motrin before he went to bed.

Oh I hope your sweetie's feeling better for school! For my ds's first day of kindergarten several years ago, he had a big chunk of his forehead missing! Seems he was playing football at a friend's house...the only problem being that the friend used ds as the football and dropped him on the driveway!

I used to teach 3-4 year-old preschool and I agree with your son's teacher about seeing (and hearing!) everything! I swear I could write a book!

I hope your ds has a great school year! :)

The other morning, my dd 6 decided to sniff the bicuits when they came out of the oven and got a bit too close to the cookie sheet. It was before school and by the time she got home, she had a long blister right across her chin. I felt so bad sending her like that, but I'm sure teachers do see worse.

 EEK!!

Did the teacher make a notation in her grade book to keep an eye on all of you??;)

Hey - did you ever find that snake????
