The twins are doing a money project in their Government class. Last night, as part of that project, they brought home a list of budget items if they were living on their own. They were to pretend they were 19 years old but were not told how much they were making and they were to come up with how much they thought things would cost. The list had pretty much everything, rent, utilities, cell phones, cable tv, groceries, etc. There was a line for toiletries. Today in class they found out that they were making $10/hour and had to figure out a way to make ends meet. When they got to the line about toiletries the class decided that $10/month would be sufficient. So, DD, in her shy self (not) yells out "no, way is $10/month enough, a box of tampons costs $6 alone".
Her government teacher, who happens to be the football coach too, said that that was one of the best lines EVER in all his years doing this project. He also said he HATES talking about that stuff with his wife even so he was was embarrassed too (all in good fun). How many 9th grade girls would be comfortable talking about tampons in class. She is such a fun kid.
