So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

How cool to spend a little time with some friends. :thumbsup2

Happy late Birthday! I wish it wasn't a club that we had to be in... but I guess there are worse ones.

A friend of mine told me when you are in the "40's club" you can add any adjective to that number that you want so long as it starts with F... she threw out fabulous, foxy, fancy, fantastic... :rotfl: This may come across as a little bit 'tacky' but I can definitely think of one naughty word that could preface '40' and think it fits pretty well... :rotfl2: Pardon me if that offends anyone... I don't use that word but it gave me a snicker... :rolleyes1

I know I'm a bit late but

Happy Birthday!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:dance3::yay::woohoo::cool2::cheer2:

Thank you!!!! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry I missed your birthday. I hope you had a great day and that the family treated you like royalty and did NOT do what they did for my 40th....which was to put 40 dinosaurs on my front lawn because my chldren said I was "extinct." :scared1:

Hey, that is the Club I'm probably in that you are talking about.

My family was very good to me - no dinosaurs in the yard but what a great idea!!! :rotfl: Now that I've passed my big day... my friends who have not yet hit the mark would be fair game for that prank... without any real fear of retaliation back towards me! :rotfl2:

Happy Birthday!!!

Thank you Melanie!! :goodvibes

I am glad that your friend will be there and having dinner with her on her birthday!

And Happy Late birthday! I hope that they did something nice for you! So this club you speak of...... I'm guessing that there is an age limit;)? I hear that it gets better like cheddar and you earn patience..... I need that!

I can say I don't feel bad about entering into the 40's club... and I hope I will feel this way as the years continue to speed by! Life is great - hectic - but overall very blessed and hmmm... my DH would have to answer the patience part on my behalf... I definitely still have my days when I feel like my head spins around and I vomit on my children when they've pushed me to my limits... ;)

Happy belated birthday! I LOVE my 40s. I mean it.

Glad you got that Akerhaus. Of course I'm disappointed about the WCC. But I am also thinking of switching my WCC to a different night now too. :rotfl:

Happy Birthday!!!!!

I hope y'all get the ressie for dinner that night worked out whether you go with RR or CM. Sending Magic your way!

I rarely if ever use that word too..and it gave me a giggle too. I mean... it fits. I just don't understand how in just a few years time I have aged SOOOO much. I blame turning 40. Now if it would just stabilize I could move on and not be so hung up on it... but really?? If my face would just stop sagging and my hair would quite falling out!!!!! I would be much more at ease about my age. :rotfl:

:rotfl: I hear you on the hair falling out! What's up with that??

Well, I'm sitting here eating my low-cal lunch... still need to get my run in today... first day of school for the kids so I didn't get it in this morning. :headache: Night time runs are not easy for me... I'm usually so spent by the time I get the chance! Anyway... here's to 40, sagging body parts :lmao: and hair loss. ;)

Fried candy bar? candy... fried... I'm from the south... YUM! :rotfl:

Interesting on the fried candy bar! As for the fried butter... I seriously thought I would never try it either until I saw it being made... it is better than the name makes it sound... they take a small pad of butter, dip it in a sweet batter, fry that up, so of course the butter immediately melts into the breading, then they roll that in cinnamon and sugar... very similar to a sopapilla. It was good... I can't lie about that... :rotfl:

Welcome to the 40 club!!!:cheer2:

Thank you! :goodvibes

Okay now I am going to have to seek out some fried butter...I was invisioning a stick of butter battered and still pretty much in tact after frying and biting into a huge chunk of butter...yuck...but sopapilla that I can handle! :woohoo:

Oh I miss southern fried chicken! I don't like pudgies or KFC- if I could bring the food from the south up I'd be a pretty happy camper- here in NY we don't even have Chick-fil-a and I'm not sure that we have a sonic's or golden coral!

The biggest thing on the local news this week was the grand opening of a new Chick-fil-a...:rotfl2: This is Ab's favorite place to eat. Dh took her to the grand opening on Thursday...she wanted to camp out all night and be one of the 1st 100 people and get a chicken sandwich a day for a year...okay HP midnight release maybe but not spending the night in a parking lot. Since Thursday...she has eaten there Friday and Saturday...will we make it today? :cool1:

Oh my you guys are lucky, no one here knows what that is and they tell me that I will LOVE KFC if I like chicken, but to me KFC is so distasteful! I am hoping that we pass one on the way down- that and a sonic and show K and Monk what that stuff is! Maybe I will even find a Jack in the Box because we don't have that either! I used to love the little cow billboards about eating more chicken!

I thought about you this morning when I woke up to the rain and a wet newspaper in the driveway! I thought oh it's still raining (has been since early evening last night) and I thought well at least we are getting some and others are hoping for what we are dreading! I will try to blow the clouds over to you because it's still raining and now the streets in my town are flooded!

We have finally cooled off some! I think your cloud blowing worked! We enjoyed several rains over the weekend - it was wonderful and so necessary! Today we reached a high of 96 and amazing what a 20 degree drop in temp can do to cool things off! :goodvibes

First things first... tomorrow, ticker will be 3 months and something days! Where has this year gone??

Secondly - school started last Thursday - kids were ecstatic... homework tonight... they are ready for summer again. :lmao: Ahh well...

Third - I'm in a funk. I have made it through 5 weeks of current class... and I just cannot get myself to commit to this class. I'm considering dropping - will be a W on my transcript until I officially complete it but I have no desire to put the time in on a research paper, I dread it, and I'm not doing a very good job with it. :confused3 I don't like the professor... that sounds awful coming from an educator but his philosophy of teaching - which is of a condescending nature - is so left field from mine... and I'm getting to where I envision myself shooting this goofy hat he wears on his head OFF of his head and that's just not healthy. :guilty:

Oh no Amy! I'm sorry to hear that class is so stressful. Nothing wrong with a little W on your transcript, if that's what you decide to do. It's better than shooting the professor's hat off.

I hear you about time flying, but I really cannot WAIT for our Disney trip. I even have a short girls cruise (it's a short cruise, not all short girls) between now and then and I'm looking more forward to Disney than that cruise.

Thought I'd try to get some pictures on here to add some 'fun'... I still can't find my camera from our move that have DD's 13th birthday party...

Here are the kids headed to their first day of school...

Here's a pic from one of our previous trips... give as much info as you can for points!!!

YAY I'm the first to post for the picture maybe I will win some points! Okay it's Eddie your DH and his or I guess it's yours too, daughter Erin (I had to go to the beginning of the PTR because you only refer to her as DD on all of these pages and I know that's not her name) and I guess that this is waiting for an ADR at Wilderness lodge? Oh and I LOVE the light up pink ears on your DH!

I'm glad that my blowing worked, I was out of breath:lmao: and the rain finally left us! I'm sorry about your classes not getting you motivated--- maybe they aren't challenging enough for you?
