So This is What a Dream Tastes Like

Day 5 ~ Sunday April 3rd.

Breakfast was at Animators Palate.

I’m having a mind blank right now, but I think since we were 2nd seating dinner, our breakfast time was 7:45. I could be off by just a bit though.
We go there promptly, with carry ons in hand…only to wait with several others with carry ons. It appears 1st seating was running late. A good 15 minutes late.

Once they opened the doors it was kind of a free for all. They just said, do you remember where you sat last night…go there. Amazingly some people couldn’t remember at all…and I’m not talking about the people who went to Palo or Remy, I mean some people just plain forgot! I can say that because we remembered. LOL!

Brent was the first over to the table today. He took drink orders. Usually Srdjan did that. Claire started asking over and over and over….”where’s the guy who calls me Princess”. We told her we didn’t know, and maybe he wasn’t there today. She wasn’t to happy about that.

Then he showed up! And we had a happy girl. The first picture isn’t great, but you can see the little smirk on her face. Kind of like “I told you he was here”.

Srdjan gave Claire a hug and a kiss on the cheek and said good bye to her.
Breakfast then arrived

Claire got cereal (rice crispies, I believe) and a fruit plate.

Mom had waffles and bacon.

I had the Route 66 - scrambled eggs, bacon, grilled sausage, grilled ham and hash browns.
It was decent enough. Nothing fabulous, but Ok breakfast food. It wasn’t anything better than Cabanas had had.

We finished up, said our goodbyes and made our way off the ship. Very sad, but we still had more fun planned.

Hi Jen! I just went through & read your entire Dining Report so far! ALL of the food looks soooo delicious!!!!!

I love the decor at all of the restaurants too! I can't wait to try the food -- someday -- especially the fish, appetizers, and desserts! Those drinks look pretty good too! :thumbsup2

I just told Brook the same thing -- I REALLY need to quit reading these reports before going to bed! I am sooo hungry right now! :lmao:

Your so lucky Claire will eat soup. My girls hate anything even close to soup. DH won't it either, unless it's a thick Chili.

I think your chicken breast meal looked very good.

It's hard right now, not knowing, if/when we will be going back. I really want to go on anothr Disney cruise over a trip to the parks at this point. Of course I would be happy with the parks though too. :thumbsup2

Claire loves soup. I always thought it was kind of odd for a kid to like soup so much. But she does get a little mad when they put veggies in it. But now if they are small, she'll tolerate it.

I hate getting-off-the-ship-day. :sad1:

Do you think Skip would have liked the cruise? My DH wasn't sold on the whole cruise idea, but the fabulous, all-you-can-eat, unlimited food is what won him over!

We cruised on the Wonder, but it looks like a lot of the Dream menu items are similar. Did you have a favorite?

I think Skip would. He did like that last cruise we went on, just didn't like the day at sea. But this ship had so much to do, and a little nap wouldn't hurt either.

Favorite? Desserts! :rotfl: Well I really liked most everything.
I sacnned the menus a lot before going and at first was a little leary with some of the options. I kind of played it safe for a lot of the foods I ate, but I might get a little more adventurous next time.

Great updates, Jen!

Tom and I went through them every day and were in awe at your review! Thank you so much for the cruise portion - can't wait for the rest.
I didn't know about the "first drink" policy, so, we might have to check that one out! ;)
The food in all the restaurants looked pretty good and I was surprised with the food at Castaway Cay - it sounded very different to the one we usually have out at Serenity Bay. Hope they still offer the same as we had last year, as the Mahi Mahi was soooooo good!
Breakfast on your last day looked as sad as it did on our cruises! :lmao:

I'm glad you are enjoying them. I didn't know abou this policy either, but Mom swears it's at the bottom of the menu. But I never looked at the drink menu, so I could've easily missed it. Either that, or she is just seeing things and we had nice servers! :confused3 But I looked at both our accounts and I was not charged for my 2 Princess Delights, nor Mom for the wine at dinner. She would only have one glass and then went to coffee. Now I'm sure it is only for basic wines.
I have heard that Serenity Bay food is different. But Claire refused to go to the clubs on the island, so I never got back there either.

I'm so glad I found this. Thanks for taking the time to share your food reviews. I'm also following your trip report; it's making me so excited for our upcoming B2B trips on the Dream. I hope we are lucky enough to have your same servers.

I think you can call and try to request them. It will be just a request, but at least you tired.
Thanks for joining

I forgot to add the copy of the Enchanted Garden kids menu. I'll edit that post, but here it is as well.

Thanks for all of the kids menu pics! My DS will be almost 2 when we cruise, so it's great to see those menus. Everyone posts the adults, but I haven't seen too many pics of the kids menus.

Sorry you DH couldn't make it, but it looks like you still had a good time.

Your pics were great, I'm going to check out your other reviews.

Loving your food review! I'm really giving the cruise some thought.

Claire looks like such a well behaved young lady that deserves to be called Princess!

Wow, I just read through your entire report... just love all the pictures. I can't wait to go... really getting excited.
My daughter's birthday is 2 days after our cruise, should I mention it and if so how and where?

No problem. I always look for kids meals too. Usually if there is at least chicken nuggets on them, I know Claire will have something she likes. She is not a burger girl at all.

Thanks you. Claire is actually pretty good. She usually has some manners and can sit stil lat a restuarant. My Mom even commented on on well behaved Claire had been, espeically with very little sleep.

Yes, let them know. Call your TA, or whoever you booked with and let them know you will be celebrating a birthday on the trip.

We had made our way over to Pop Century and checked in. Mom and Dad went off to Animal Kingdom then. They had lunch there, but I don’t know where, or what.
Claire took a quick swim and then we headed off to Magic Kingdom.
After doing a few things she declared she was starving. One of those things that if you didn’t get food she would just die on the spot. I had wanted to eat at Columbia Harbor House or Pecos Bills, but we happened to be in Tomorrowland at that point and I knew we I had to get her food fast. We settled for Cosmic Rays. We like it there, but it’s just a place we go to all the time, so I wanted to branch out a bit.

We got in line at Bay 1, just randomly. I gave her some choices.

The place was packed. I was amazed how busy it was. I think it was after 2 at this point. We had to wait in line to order for a bit, the whole time I kept hearing a little voice telling me how hungry she was. Finally after a cashier change right when it was our turn, we ordered.
We were greeted by this friendly CM as we approached the counter to get our food.

Claire got the kids peanut butter and jelly with fries. I kind of said to myself…”why am I paying for PBJ on vacation?” But that’s OK, that’s what she wanted.

pbjfries.jpg

I went back and forth on what I wanted. The chicken dinner sounded really good, but I wasn’t THAT hungry. I finally settled on the Chicken nuggets with fries.

These were good as well, but way too much. I should’ve ordered the kids meal for myself. OR just got these and shared with Claire, but since she wanted PBJ, that didn’t work. I only ate about half of it. Claire ate about half of hers as well, along with one of my nuggets.
We watched Sonny perform. Claire loved this when she was 2 and danced to the music on our first MK night that trip. She didn’t even remember him this trip. I know we have been here since that 1st trip with her, but we might not have sat down by Sonny.

The cost of this meal was $16.37.

We had fun and soon were on our way back out for more MK fun in the crowded heat!

What shock going from SHIP food to PARK food!

Glad to see escargots are still there...Bubba LOVED those! (but now they come w/ a side of a bread.... :thumbsup2 )

off to start reading your other report...... (at least I remembered to read AFTER breakfast today  )
