So the Mover Sure Needs that Refurb

I was glad when the People Mover refurb got pushed back so that it would be open on my trip, but I do see there is a need for a refurb on it. Many of the speaker banks did not work and it stopped several times. For those who might miss it durring their upcoming trip, just take solace in knowing that it needs the work and will be better once it is complete. It is good to know that they are on top of this one.

I will be there during refurb, which is definitely disappointing as this is always a must do for us... but I agree that it needs a little help. My main disappointment in it being down during my trip is that my niece is coming with me this year and it will be her first WDW trip, so she will miss it. She will also miss FOTLK, which is a real bummer! But I am very excited about the new theater and will be back in October so I will get to see it this year:)

In early April it kept stopping and starting, then just stopped. We were walked along the tracks and down the stairs near Space Mountain. It was interesting but the thing needs work!

Funny that you posted this. DH and I were just talking about this today. It will be closed during our Anniversary trip and it is one of our favorite attractions. The last time we were there we noticed it needed some "help". We noticed rips in the seats and some of the cars were closed off with cones in them. I look forward to riding it when it is complete! I always LOVE excuses to go back to WDW!

I was so excited to hear they had pushed it back. It does need the refurb but glad it's after I'm gone. :)

A lot of the time it stops is due to Idiots deciding to stand up. I wonder if restraints will be fitted to stop this during the refurb?

YAY!!!:banana: Well not yay that it's going to be down, just yay that it's going to be open while we are there. We were disappointed that it was going to be closed during our trip. Looks like it closes our last day.

Didn't the People Mover go thru pretty big refurb just a few years back? I'm surprised it needs one again. Or has it been longer than I thought?

It's good that it's not any longer than that, but that seems an awfully short time window to make all the repairs the ride needs. I thought it needed more extensive work.

I really hope they touch up the blue paint on the sign you pass in Space Mountain (I think?)... it's been bothering me for years!

Please do not let that be. I love sitting cross ways in the seat with one leg up. Very relaxing.

Oh, man, I hope not! One of the best things about the Peoplemover is being able to lounge, stretch out a little, and relax during a hectic day in the MK.

While they've got it down, I wonder if they're going to add anything to those stretches of blank tunnel that have developed as the buildings have changed over the years? Heck, even a fresh coat of paint with some glow-in-the dark stripes would be nice to look at.

There is a lot they could do with that area, and it wouldn't even cost that much.
