We are going in December and decided to add LTT- opinions please. Have never eaten there and will be going with DH, DMIL and DS who is a very picky eater but will eat ham, potatoes and mac and cheese.
We were initially booked at Boma that night but will be joining my older brother at Boma later in the week and didn't want to do 2 nights there just in case the picky eaters didn't like it.
Any opinions on LTT would be appreciated.

I haven't done LTT for dinner since they took away the characters. While the dinner food was okay, the characters were the big draw for me because they spent so much time at each table. Dinner is served family style and is a typical thanksgiving-type dinner. Turkey, ham, some kind of beef I think, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac & cheese, and green beans. Not bad but not spectacular.

I prefer to have lunch there because you order off a menu. I've had lunch there 4 times and have never had a bad meal.

We had lunch there a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. DH and I split the turkey dish and shared an ooey gooey toffee cake. The cake was wonderful.

I had dinner there the last week in September. The food was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the steak and turkey.

wow i was just going to start a thread to say how awesome Liberty Tree is! We always skipped it b/c the menu didnt appeal that much too me, as other places did, and they didnt have characters anymore. However, this trip which we got back from last Sunday was when we first tried it. It was amazing! It is simple food but boy they make it awesome! I said to my DH that if i were Rachel Ray i'd be smacking my hand on the table going omg! We had an adr and didnt wait but a couple minutes. The waiting area is nice and really well themed. Our server was great. It was later in the evening so i could tell she had had enough but she still did a great job. We gave her a big tip. First you get a salad w/ a strawberry vinegarette, which was good.. and some rolls and butter, good also. Then you get a platter w/ the most tender meats! It is ham, with a pineapple glaze, turkey -as tender and moist as can be, and flank steak-with the BEST marinade on it. I got end pieces which had a lot of the rub on it and it was the best part of the meal. Under the meat is the stuffing which is sooo yummy! Then you also get mashed potatoes, delicious gravy, mac and cheese, and we had seasoned fresh green beans. Oh this meal was so amazing and i was so surprised by this place. Simple yet spectacular. It was so good that i cancelled our La Hacienda and ate here again, and i tried my luck calling reservations from our resort room the night before and we got a 5pm for liberty tree! btw, i also got the evening time i wanted for Kona cafe the next day. (and this was during the free dining, so i didnt expect to get anythign, i was thrilled!, i figured we could just be walk ups, but no need to!) So the second time we ate there the waitress asked what was our favorites, and i said the flank steak w/ the marinate, lots of marinade. She brought out a plate full that had extra juice for us. Oh and you get dessert too. I ate sooo much! THat is our must do on our next trip for sure. However, that came in second place, as the kona bread and teryaki steak dinner surpasses LTT. Close 2nd though.

I'm so glad i tried it. Cant believe it was visit number 9 before i finally tried this place. :cloud9:

We ate at LTT in September. We liked it a lot. The food was very tasty and one of my husband's favorite restaurants. My DD4 is a picky eater and she liked the rolls and mac & cheese. We are likey to return on a future trip.

We love the Liberty Tree Tavern. One of our fondest Disney memories occurred there. It was a hot day, and we were really thirsty, so when our waiter brought our drinks, we said something like, "oh great, we are so thirsty". Our waiter then began to bring so many refills we were unable to drink them fast enough. I think the whole meal, each person had at least two full cups at all times. It was awesome. I probably drank about twelve glasses of sweet tea. Oh, and the food was good too.:thumbsup2

The Pot Roast at lunch is insanely good. Super moist and incredible. The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is the must-have dessert.

Ditto this. Food was OK, not bad, not terrific. Not worth the money without the characters for us, but if you have picky eaters it may be just the thing because it's not fancy.

We liked lunch (just did that a couple of weeks ago.)

LTT dinner is one of our favorites. My DS (13) likes it because it's all you can eat Thanksgiving dinner and I like it because I don't have to spend all day cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

My picky eater (DD) likes the mac n cheese and rolls. :)

Oh and we've done LTT both with characters and without. I much prefer without...less chaos. ;)

I'll admit that I miss the characters. I loved seeing them in their colonial attire. However, it is still a must do for us every trip! They have the best of everything at LTT! There is not one thing they serve that I don't love and I typically hate Thanksgiving food. :thumbsup2 for Liberty Tree Tavern!

We cancelled our ADR's at CRT for the LTT just the other day due to the menu at CRT .... you guys have made me feel SO much better about that decision!!!

:grouphug:

We have done a lunch and dinner there, and I have to say that they were both wonderful. I ma going back with my three children in December and we will eat dinner there again. I love the decor, the food is yummy, and the service is wonderful.:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. I feel much better now about this ressie. I had everything booked but then my brother who lives in Orlando decided to join us for dinner Fri night and je wanted Boma so I was afraid ro keep the Boma ressie earlier in the week incase we didn't like it I didn't want to have to go there again and this late in the game choices were slim. I showed DH the menu and all your comments and made him very hungry so now he's pouting cause our trip is still 55 days away
