So should I cancel?

I've been reading thru the threads on using a TA & now thinking of canceling my reservation with CRO & going thru Dreams Unlimited. Do I have a better chance at getting a code rather than trying to find one on my own?

Also is there a "usual" time period before codes come out for upcoming months?

When I made the original reservation with CRO. She said there has been a discount for every month the past 2 years & can almost guarantee another will come out for next year.

Very encouraging...but the wait is making me nuts

I haven't used a TA in years now but I personnaly wouldn't cancel. The TA will only be able to get the code when they finally come out for you and you can get the code at the same time to have applied. You may find out first here on the boards that the codes are out Unless I'm missing something, I don't see what difference it would make whether you call to have the code applied or have them do it for you.

Just my opinion though - I could be missing something

I used DU for our last trip and was very happy with them. My understanding is that with the codes, sometimes there are a limited number of codes for deluxe resorts, etc., but DU is usually able to get them. If you are able to check the boards every morning and make those calls ASAP, I'm sure you could get them also. I personally like having the TA do the work.

DON'T cancel your reservation!!!!!

Submit a request for a quote to Dreams, and the notes section let them know that you already have a reservation through CRO (make sure you tell them it's NOT with another travel agent) and that you'd like for them to take over for you.

That's what I did for my honeymoon, and I'm thrilled. We got a postcard a while ago, but when September room-only codes and AP rates were released, our agent was right on top of it, even though we already had the lowest rate we could get.

I used to be one of the ones that didn't use a TA until last year when I tried Your Magical Journeys and Karen. I had great luck! She was able to contact me right before specials and codes came out to find out if I was interested. Last year she was booking people until hours right before her own vacation since big specials came out. This year she contacted me days before the 5+2 package got extended for my timeframe. You might want to give them a try. You will find them at yourmagicaljourneys.com
