So sad,WL deluxe booked Dec2008!!

I have been planning on a December 2008 trip to celebrate our 10th aniversery. I have called a couple of times over the last few months and have been told that they haven't released the rooms yet. I called again today and was told that all the Deluxe rooms are booked for the time frame we are able to go. We have been planning this trip forever and I am just so sad. We could stay at the poly or cont but it just wont be the same at Christmas time. This will be our first and maybe only trip at Christmas time.
We have to have the deluxe rooms because we have 4 children 7,6,4,and 2 at the time of travel. I just can't believe they would all be booked up for almost 3 weeks more than a year in advance!

Any other suggestions on places to stay? We are staying 2 nights at AKL also.

Thats just crazy! Do you have AAA? I know they keep blocks of rooms aside for them. Call a AAA agent. Sign up if you have too. Good Luck!

I doubt they've released all the rooms for Dec 08 yet. Keep checking. Last year they released them a few at a time over several months. That's how we were able to get a room. We booked a standard in Oct 06 to be sure we had a room for Dec 07.

I do have AAA. Can you just book a room through them or do you have to book the entire package? We thought about booking 2 rooms but we know the kids would be running between the 2 if we didn't get ajoining rooms or we would pay for a room we never used.

Often when they say everythings booked up that is just the same answer as not everything as been released yet - I would be really surprised if you can't get WL for December 2008 at some point here coming up.

Book your second choice now and keep trying for the WL. I agee with others. I'm betting they have not released all rooms yet. Also on booking 2 rooms I think with kids that young connecting is guaranteed.

Yes, you can just book just a room. You don't even have to go through AAA. I booked our room right through Disney and was able to get the AAA rate. There are a fixed number of rooms set aside for the AAA rate...when they are gone, they are really gone (no more will be released for that time period - at least that is what I was told). I have heard many say that not all rooms (non AAA) have been released yet for that far out. So, If you can't get AAA I would keep trying. We stayed at WL one year in December and just loved it. It would be our choice for a winter vacation. Good luck!

Maybe the cm was looking at 2007 by mistake?? I just can't believe that all those rooms are sold out for a date over a year away. I can believe that all the rooms are not released yet, but not booked. Keep checking I'm sure more openings will occur.

I tried 3 weeks ago for a WL deluxe in Oct 2008 and was told they were all booked. They told me to keep checking online and if a room opens up to call immediately. I asked if all the rooms were released and they said yes, and I asked if they had the ability to book ALL the rooms in the resort, or were some allocated to other travel agencies like AAA, and they said they can book all the rooms. I've had to call back several times for different reasons, and I ask a new CM each time and they all say it is a very popular resort and is already booked (as opposed to not released yet). I wound up getting 2connecting (not ajoining) rooms instead. I planned to keep trying to see if a deluxe opens up, but now I'm getting used to the idea of two full rooms, and 2 bathrooms. The price for 2 rooms is somewhat cheeper than the deluxe also. I spoke with CM 4 different times and they all assured me that we will indeed get the connecting rooms we requested when we arrive, due to having young children. They will be 9, 6, 4 and 4.

I will definately keep checking. It is odd how I wasn't able to book it 18 months in advance and now it is is all booked. (just the deluxe rooms) I am sure that the cm was looking at 2008 because we booked 2 days at the AKL. Now I just can't decide where else to stay. We have stayed at the Poly but it just doesn't seem much like Christmas. It might be snowing in the midwest by the time we go so I might be thankful I am there.

All blocks of rooms haven't been released yet, they will be released throughout the year. The only one that I know of that may be booked up that far in advance is the All Stars and that is because that is where the Pop Warner tweens/teens stay.

I'm getting the same message as disneywith4boys. They said all rooms have been released and they are booked for the dates I'm looking for around Thanksgiving 2008 (unless I want concierge). So I'm hoping that the cast members are just not informed and it's true that Disney holds back rooms! I keep checking, but would love to hear if anyone observes a bunch being released all of a sudden.

It just can't be!!! I would keep trying and also AAA. I booked the WL this past July for this 2007 coming Christmas through AAA, I am pretty sure there are other options. Keep trying--Keep Trying.
