My cousin GiGi was moved to a hospice today. She is only 46. Her only child is 11. :guilty: I just feel like crying. GiGi was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2002, already metastasized to her brain and bones. They gave her 8 wks to live. She has tried every treatment available and it gave her a 3-1/2yrs. :yay:

This year her not-so-DH left her, telling GiGi he "couldn't stand to see anymore scars." :furious: He has a girlfriend waiting in the wings. Her sibs have come in to take care of her and they are angels(two brothers & a sister & three aunts.) GiGi has gone through this with so much grace. She has planned her funeral, written her wills, and made sure her son is taken care of through it all. :goodvibes

Today was the day. She knew it was time. She's ready. I don't think it will be long now. :sad1: Ya'll say a prayer for this dear family, wouldja?

 She sounds like a very brave lady. I've been through the hospice thing with my sister who passed away last year. If it gives you any comfort, hospices are wonderful places. They will treat her with dignity and love and make her last days comfortable. Prayers going out to your family.

I'm so sorry. You and your family will be in my prayers as well as Gigi. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry about your cousin. I lost a good friend last year to lung cancer. You all will be in my prayers. :grouphug:

Very sorry for you and your cousin and family. God bless her. :grouphug:

Prayer said. I am so sorry. :grouphug:

((hugs)) I am so sorry. GiGi sounds like she fought brave battle and will soon be at peace in God's loving care w/o pain or suffering. Prayers for her family and young son as they face this most difficult time.

Prayers for GiGi and her family. I hope her last days are peaceful.

I lost my 47 year old cousin to lung cancer 2 years ago. My heart goes out to you and your family. :grouphug:

I am sorry for you and your family, but glad that Gigi got to have this time with you to make her plans and let her wishes be known. It will give her peace in the coming days. Hospice is such a blessing. We were in hospice with my mom and I felt that she was in such safe and loving hands. It all became about her comfort and wishes. There was such a support system for us too, and has been since. I have said a prayer for you and your family. God Bless.

Thank ya'll for all your support. It means so much. I've been feeling mildly guilty for not going up to help out. I nursed my father through his last days with lung cancer and honestly, I just can't do it again. :guilty: We live pretty far away.I will only be able to make one trip, so I've decided to go up for the funeral. GiGi understands--she doesn't want anyone making a fuss. I figure after she passes, we're all going to need each other--that's when I'll go.

What a sad story. :( My best for GiGi and her family and all who love her. So sad. She and all are in my prayers. Cancer is so evil.:(
