So Sad Now... Might Not Be Going to WDW

Well.. I emailed my two friends, Jenise and Brandon, to ask if they were honestly serious about going to WDW in January, because i wanted to know whether i should bother really planning this. I had more faith in Jenise saying yes. She goes every other year and her parents would def help hher out and pay for it. Me and Brandon have to pay for it ourselves so i was worried he would say no.

Well just the opposite happened. Brandon said yes, he thinks he can, he wants to put every effort into it. Jenise said that now she can't because of financial reasons, and she had to take a nursing course during our january break.

I wouldnt mind going with just Brandon, but i dunno if its worth it. I mean... we always wanted to go with more people and we had hoped for more than 3 but then we decided ok we'll do it. And now thats it down to 2, i just wonder if its worth us spending the money (esp because splitting the hotel room price, its more now than if we had 3 in the room), or we should just forget it and try some other time, with more people, which would probably be either summer of 2006 or even later (most likely later).

Its just tough being in college and trying to plan these things. Between money and classes we need to take and all that, its frustratingly hard to work out.

Its times like these i wish money could drop into my lap and i could pay for everyone.

I dunno. Should brandon and I just go anyway or should we call it off? I dont even know if he'll still be interested to go anyway, i havnt talked to him yet...

Hi! :wave2:

A couple years ago, I had planned to go the week after Thanksgiving with my best friend, Kristaan. During the planning phase, my other best friend, Andrea, decided that she'd like to tag along, which was great. We've all known each other since we were in grade school. Well, the summer before we were going, Kristaan decided to take a new job and didn't ask/tell them she had a vacation planned that week, so she ended up not going. Well, long story short, Andrea and I had the best time. We had a whole week, so we spent a couple days resort-hopping and sitting by the pool. She had only been to Epcot on an Ambassadair day trip, so it was fun to be her personal "guide". I would say, if you guys get along and you both really want to go, go for it! We did and we had a great time!

Still plan on your trip. Do either of you have AAA? That could lower your room rate. Discount codes to anyone may be released for January - since it's a slower time.

Buy your tickets without any options.

I still say plan on it. The cancellation policy allows for 5 days, and you don't have to buy the tickets until the day before you leave. If it doesn't work out, you could easily not be out anything.

This is slightly different, but thought I would share anyway...

I say go for it! We just got back from a trip in March. Originally DH and I were going with 2 other couples. Soon after we started planning, one of the couples broke up. But she still came with us, and we had a blast. She didn't regret it for a second. There were several times during the vacation that my DH and the other couple wanted to go back to the room to rest (they are not so into Disney as my friend and I are!) SO we spent a lot of time just me and her. Not that I didn't want to be with my DH and the other couple, but the 2 of us had just as much fun when it was just us.

In any case, I say go ahead with the planning as long as your friend still wants to go. You have until a few days before to cancel the hotel. Also, I think it might even be better with a smaller group. It's hard to travel in larger groups. THat's my opinion anyway!

You'll have a blast!

Doing a Disney trip with two people is great! You can fit on all of the rides and you get so much done! That said, you have to see how your finances work out, but if you can stay at a value resort, you can save a lot of money! Keep us posted! :flower:
