So sad: Cesar Millan's wife files for divorce

I never understand why people get "sad" about the state of other people's marital statuses. If one or both of them have decided to take a step that will improve their emotional well-being, guess what? I'm happy for them. If someone got hurt in the process, well, that's sad. But if they want to divoce, I could not care less. I'm certainly not "sad" about it.

That's a good point. And honestly, about the only time I'm sad when I hear about divorce is if it's a friend or family.

I can see that a situation is sad even if doesn't make me sad personally. It's sad when a marriage breaks up, whether or not it affects my own personal mood.

It has nothing to do with my personal mood. When a couple breaks up, there's a good chance that they're putting an end to an unhappy marriage. That's a good thing. I think it's great, in fact, that we live in a society where people do not HAVE to remain in unhappy marriages. Ideally, all marriages would be happy, but that will never be and has never been possible.

I admit, of course, that it's sad when adultery and deception is involved, but this one in particular seem like a fairly mutual agreement. I don't find it sad in the least.

Some people don't only care about people that they know.

On a different note, Ceaser always came across as gay to me.

:lmao: Really? He doesn't twig my gay-dar at all. Quite the opposite!

I love watching the Dog Whisperer, and I've learned a lot of useful stuff to do with my dog from him, but I have to say I wasn't too surprised to hear of their breakup. He has always struck me as an Alpha Male type who likes to be in control - it's part of why the dogs always see him as boss, right away. And it's not a bad thing, but it can be hard for many women to live with.

I'm also wondering what he did in Katrina???? I need closure on that anecdote!

Really? :confused3 The first time I saw him, I thought he was gay. I live in New Orleans, so I'm around a lot of gay people. Google Ceaser Millan gay. I'm not the only one.

Then it's sad that they had an unhappy marriage. It's sad that one or both of them probably had high hopes for the marriage that did not pan out.

I didn't say I didn't care, I just said I'm not necessarily sad when I read about a divorce of a couple that I didn't know.

No, you aren't the only one....in fact, when I realized who we were discussing my first reaction was, "Oh, I didn't know he was even married, and particularly not to a woman. I thought he was gay."

Still not sure what he did after Katrina?????? Did it have to do with dogs?

Dawn

I don't think I've seen so many stereotypes strung together like they are OK since watching Archie Bunker on "All in the Family"... where is the head shaking and confused smiley when you need one?

Oh, please :sad2: What stereotypes? Thinking someone is gay is not stereotyping. It's thinking their gay. Is it stereotyping to assume someone is straight? :confused3

I've read about people getting the gay vibe from him, but I never did.

And even though I don't know them personally, their divorce does make me sad. I remember when the show first started years ago and Illusion and the kids would be on from time to time helping Cesar. The vibe I got was a happy family.

I'm not sad to the point of taking to my bed and someone having to pat my hand. Some people understand why people get sad about things like this and some people can't understand. I'm one who does understand, and it does make me sad that they couldn't work out whatever it was. But I'm not crying my eyes out over it.

Well, I might just have to polish off a bottle of wine at some point in the future to get over it... :goodvibes
