Every year, each of the classes in my school does a community service project. I let the kids decide what they want to do because I think they take more ownership of the project if it's something they want to do. I threw some ideas out there and some of the kids did as well. They voted that they wanted to hold a school supply sale with the proceeds going to Give Kids the World. We did a two day sale, where the kids worked their butts off. They ended up raising $262. I know it's not much, but I work in an urban area where many of the kids don't have much themselves. I kicked in some extra so that we could donate an even $300 because I was so proud of how into it these kids were. It makes a teacher proud
