on a theme for your pin collecting. Gone are my days of having to have every pin that came out to needing only a few pins to complete a colletion. I really only now go after Disneyana Convention pins and a few Xmas pins.

How about you? Do you now focus more on one style, theme or character?

DLR:
Ride pins
series sets, like GWP for example

DLR/WDW:
most holiday pins (particularly patriotic, Christmas, new years & Easter, but BF likes Halloween too!)

DLR/WDW/DA:
all Pluto pins
the greater majority of Aladdin characters
all Eeyore pins

Since my collecting began in Anaheim, I tend to stick mostly to those pins... but I do have many that don't fit into any category.

I REALLY try to remain focused on themes. Sometimes those themes stretch the imagination in their range. ;)
But even the themes keep me pretty busy in buying and trading.

A few of the themes I try to avoid are holidays & Tink. That is not to say a few don't mosey into my collection still. ;)

Weellll,

We started out just collecting Pooh. Not all the Pooh characters, just Pooh. We've pretty much stuck to that except when it happens to be Pooh w whomever.

Then Fred wanted his own thing, and chose Steamboat Willie.

The we discovered the "honeymoon pins" and so that quest began. Also the other wedding or lovey dovey type pins. This is because of our Disney love story.

And then we were attracted to the patriotic pins. Fred being in the Navy an all.

So we are strtched a bit. But it sure is fun.

I do have to admit, I've aquired quite a few Stitch pins in the last few months. To look at those pages in my book, you' think I may collect, but I don't. I just get them when they are easy to get as I know people who love him. 1 in particular, Micheal.

Anyhoooo. that's what we're into!
Have a great day everyone!
Winnie

PS: By the way...DANA>>> I have this great Stitch pin I don't think you have and I'm sure you'll drool!!! hehehehe

I don't think Micheal has it either. You can toss him for it. Or actually whom ever has the best Pooh pin can have it!!

Stitch is our main focal point. However, we do have a quite a few of the patriotic pins. I have decided to collect Timon & Pumba and Gabby has started to collect Jessica Rabbit. We chose these characters because we like them and are much less stressful to try to obtain than Stitch. I get a kick out of the aliens from Toy Story, so I have a couple of those. We also love Brother Bear and Nemo and......

Oh my, did I lose my focus again? lol

I still have way too many themes.

My primary collection is park pins: attractions, hotels, restaurants.
I also collect: Alice, Beauty & the Beast, Dumbo
DH collects: Pluto, Rafiki

I try to collect: Holiday (especially 4th of July) and Stitch, but there are so many HTF ones that I just get what I can but I've finally learned not to stress so much about them.

My primary collection has always been Beauty & the Beast. Following that are Minnie and the Disney babies. I do have some others, but I'm working on either trading the odd ones out or selling them due to needed finances. :)

I'm all about collecting Stitch items. :) Occasionally I'll pick up something else that I like, but 95% of my Disney items are Stitch.

Definitely Stitch for me.
Goofy for my husband.

And I guess anything else that is really cute that I feel we need to have. (which actually isn't too much these days!)

Every time I try to answer a question like this . . . I come to the conclusion that I have figured out a way to focus on too many things!

Here's my list:
Princesses -- full body only.
Full body Mickey & Minnie -- matching costumes.
Full body Daisy.
Favorite WDW attractions.
Any WDW resort in which we've stayed, or restaurant in which we've eaten, and any other pin that represent a special event from one of our trips.
DVC pins.

And I believe I have every Disney copyrighted jewish-hebrew-israeli pin.

DH collects round pins and Imagineering pins.

DS#1 collects Goofy only and Max pins. He recently began collecting Lilo & Stitch (God help me!).

DS#2 collects Donald, Scrooge McDuck, Nephews. (He lets me keep his full bodied Donalds if they match one of my full body Daisys!)

DD collects princesses, some Monsters Inc, some Toy Story, and recently some Lilo & Stitch.

Now, do you see what I mean about too many foci? :earseek:

Well, we try to focus, but.....

I collect: Animal Kingdom
Minnie Moonlit Madness
Monsters on Main Street
anything from Sleeping Beauty (Aurora, Maleficent, fairies, etc.....this was manageable until they started making too many Maleficents!)
Flower and Garden (I cut way back when they got carried away with the number of pins so I only get one a year now)

Shawn collects: Animation
Imagineering
some haunted mansion and Pirates of the Carribean

The girls collect: Cinderella
Ariel
Jasmine
Nightmare before Christmas (especially Jack)

I think we are getting more and more selective as we go. The way Disney is cranking the pins out you have to! And some of the pins look so much a like after a while. We no longer 'need' everything for the most of the categories we collect, just the ones we like. But as you can see, it is still a lot when there are four collectors in the house! And we still pick up a few pins outside our categories just because we like them although less and less of those too.

Bonnie

HM, NBC, Snow White and some Sticth but less and less of him these days.

I love the darkside of Disney.

I try to limit myself to Tink pins, DLR attraction pins and pins of Meg from Hercules and some pins that catch my eye. :D

Well, I have a lot of different ones but there aren't that many pins for them

Me: World Showcase based pins, Jane from Tarzan, Mulan pins, Splash Mountain, Lilo Ohana pins (not many stitches), but I have found I have a lot of Christmas pins and Beauty and Beast pins as well. Of course, mostly it is just the pins that catch my eye.

DH: Military themed, Music themed, Chernabog, and astronauts

DD: eeyore, dogs, patriotic

see lots of pins around here.
