.....and I feel so........so........ :scared1: ....and so :sad2:....and so

I'm sad because I can't believe where the time has gone - like every mum I remember taking him on his first day in his tiny-can't-believe-they-make-it-that-small uniform. It's strange to think that (apart from when he goes in to sit his exams) he'll never wear school uniform again.

I'm also scared because the time is really close now for the exams and he just hasn't done the work. There is nothing more my husband and I can do - it's really down to him now. He has offers from 4 universities - but can he make the grades? :confused3 Only time is going to tell.

But I have to say I am really amazed and happy that we got him this far!!!!My son has always been a difficult pupil - nothing tried at home or at school made any difference. No sanction, encouragement, report card, IEP, PSP, SEBD specialist or EP has ever made any difference. He was advanced a year at school when he was 6 because it was thought that boredom may be his problem. It had limited success. He couldn't tell you himself why he acts up and he would always promise to stop. *sigh* But somehow or other, with a lot of patience from the school, a few fixed term exclusions along the way, he has made it to the end of Year 13. I NEVER have to sit through another Parents Evening to hear teacher after teacher telling me "it's such a shame with all his potential that he wastes his time". Never another report with comment like the last one "nothing short of criminal how he wasted his talent" :sad2: We took comfort from the teacher who said "I like Son. He is a nice young man who is polite, helpful and good to chat to" Then he had to add " as a student however - he's a nightmare"

But now it's done. I can't think too hard about what comes next. For tonight we are opening a bottle of champagne and saying goodbye to schooldays.

my eldest is sitting his Gsces this year and i am nervous about that, he wants to go to six form , goodness how I will feel when he leaves, hug for you

enjoy your bottle of champagne, and good luck to your son with his exams and whatever he chooses to do after :wizard:

It's such a difficult time Bev ~ as all of a sudden they go from school kids to adults, and making their own decisions

My eldest left school 2 years ago, and decided to take her A levels, and she hated it. Thankfully she passed her AS levels, and now is thoroughly happy in her Media Production course

Youngest DD is taking her GCSE's this Summer (and has already passed 2), and fingers crossed, she'll be taking a Photography course in September should she get enough GCSE's

Enjoy your champers tonight, you all deserve it ::yes:: and Good Luck to your DS in his A levels :wizard:

I do feel for you  this time last year my eldest DD was leaving high school and my youngest leaving primary school and I felt so sad it was the end of an era.
Good Luck to your son in his exams and his future :goodvibes

My eldest starts High school in September and thats :scared1: enough !!

Good luck to your Ds in his exams :wizard::wizard:

Good luck to your DS in his exams

It must be very strange to see your child leave school. It sounds like you have been tremendously supportive of him. As for the teacher who commented that he had wasted his potential - surely your potential to do well doesn't end at 18? Doesn't give us *ahem* older people much hope does it? My little brother has decided to study Classics at university at the ripe old age of 35.:rotfl: Good luck to your son in his exams.:goodvibes
