So my DD is flying to London tomorrow any good advice.

Well, she has her global phone & visa travel cards thanks to you guys and she will be leaving tomorrow. I would lie if I said I wasn't nervous. She is traveling with three other girls from the us but meeting friends that they have made at camp at the airport. They will be touring Traflagar Square, SoHo, Shepards Bush, CAmden Market, Leeds, Kent, Taking the train to Paris for a few days then back to London - changing of the guard, big Ben, parliament, museum of London. I'm not too sure what she is doing this is the list she gave me. It isn't very complete if you ask me, but she says the girls they are meeting have things planned being they are formilar with the area. They were going to stay in hotels till they priced it and now they are staying in dorm rooms with friends and hostils. ( They will have their own room & bath)
Can someone tell me about health care what if one of these girls gets sick and they are only 17. Will they be able to get help?
AAdvice please. I know the weather has been rough, anything else I should know. Thanks so much.

I hope your DD has a great time, sounds liek they have some fun stuff planned. As for health care I take it she has travel insurance? If so then make sure she carries it with her or at least the policy number and contact details for the comapny who provided it, with this she can access the National Helath Service for emergency care, which I hope she won't need.
Hope your DD has a good flight weather here has been very windy and wet but looks like it will be drier for the next few days.

She'll see more of the sites i've ever seen! Tell her to bring an umbrella, although it is meant to be drier tomorrow. This week might be abit busy around the tourist places as the schools are off around most of the country...but have fun!

We had a day of snow last week but the forecast is for mild but wet.

For emergency healthcare she will be able to get treatment in an ED but she should have travel insurance.

I supect she is seeing Leeds Castle in Kent not Leeds which is in Yorkshire some 150 miles from London as she does not seem to have other trips to the north scheduled.

No Andy, she is traveling to Leeds that is 150 miles away they want to visit a friend at college there. They're young they have no concept of time.

Susan- I'm going to tell her now what you said about the weather. this should make touring easier. Great News!

It turned cloudy as soon as I got my deck chair out!

However the weather for London is mild for this time of year with some showers.

If she dresses appropriately she should be fine. My DD13 has just gone out with her friends to the Science Museum as it is half term. I guess we don't appreciate being so close to the tourist attractions.
