Just now he told me that he had this lengthy conversation at the end of the day... waiting for his bus to be called. He went into great detail about points, how you can use them to travel the world and even use them for cruises, but they are not best spent on cruises. OMG he was cracking me up. He explained the different resorts, how when you go at certain times of year....it takes more points. I asked him how much detail did he actually GIVE HER???? So he went into his spill about what he knows about DVC. My husband walks by and says "That is very scary Denise very scary!"

I WAS SO IMPRESSED!!! My response...."Good work young jedi, good work!!" I am apparently giving him a DVC education and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT.

I think this came up probably because I had sent her an email last week about him possibly missing 1 or 2 days for the Jan. trip (if we still go). I asked her if she preferred he miss those two days or the 1st two days of the next week when the new marking period starts. Her response was "It was fine with her either way, but I should pick the days based on the best airfare." How cool is that??? She was completely FINE with it. I think she must have started the conversation with him and he just filled her in apparently. Several of the teachers know we are DVC members because he has gone 4 times in Jan. Plus I work there too, so it is NO SECRET we LOVE our DVC.

Of course.......however....she is pregnant and due with their first baby in mid April...so I doubt they are looking to buy.

And I was impressed that my DS (also 10) was asking this evening about when the most crowded times were at Disney and he guessed January as one of the lower crowd times. Obviously, he has a long way to go to keep up with your DS, though!

If Disney knew about this it may become there next marketing ploy. My DD (who is also 10) loves to grab my points book and figure out how many it will take for any trip my DH and I mention. It doesn't take much to get infected with the DVC bug. But you can never underestimate the knowledge of children because it will always shock you .

As your eldest is somewhat Disneyed out, this one is just getting started! My 13 year old refers to DVC as "our" Disney timeshare! It would make a cute Disney infomercial!

Isn't it so great how much children learn by just listening to us. I had a conversation with my son's grade 3 teacher a couple years ago during a meeting and she said that my son had explained to her about DVC. I was a little shocked because as far as I'm aware, all he knew about it was that we can go more often because of it. Apparently, he explained to her about using points for rooms and being able to go to different resorts getting a discount for annual passes. She did mention to him that it was so nice to be able to go to Disney often. He wanted her to know that we were able to do that because we belong to a Disney Vacation Club. So she asked what that was, little did she know that it was going to be a half hour conversation. My son loves to talk.

It amazes me how much he knew about it. Now that he's 10, he could probably book our trip for us. He always seems to have questions about it. I would be more confident in his ability to book more than my husband. My husband likes to go and have a good time, he likes to leave all the planning to me. He says that there's no point in having 2 crazy people in the family. (I must admit, I do get a little crazy with the planning!)
