First, and most importantly, thanks to everyone for taking the time to go thru this again...

**** We made our 1st SSR ressies today for December!!! Oh so excited!!!*** Just a couple of hours after we made our down payment *** Oh so EASY!!!!!!!!

Now - Please explain ROFR. I understand WDW (DVC?) buys up "economical" resales to keep prices in check. What happens to those contracts/points? Do they ever go back on the market? Does DVC ever sell reacquired points at a previously sold-out resort?

Already (just like everyone else, I guess...) I'm crunching numbers to see if we can buy at another DVC resort on the resale market so we can enjoy that 11-month resv. window, and the extra available points! I notice a lot of you folks are multiple resort owners - how difficult/easy is it to juggle your points from resort to resort? For example - if I had 200 at SSR and 200 at VWL - could I use 300 at SSR (loan myself 100?) How does that work?

Thanks again!

That is exactly what Disney does with them. As I understand it, Disney has a waiting list at each resort. They excersie the ROFR and then sell those points to those waiting to buy. Call your guide and ask to be put on one of those wait lists.

You can use your points at other DVC resorts, but you can't use them until 7 months out. So if you want to make a reservation for Christmas week at VWL, you may want to borrow from next year's points to get all the days you need up front. Or make a reservation for the additional days you need at your other resort. Then at 7 months, see if you can change your reservation over to the resort you want to stay at. If you can't, at least you will have a reservation for the time you need.

We have contracts at two resorts, with two different Use Years. It's not all that difficult to manage, but you do have to pay attention with two sets of banking deadlines, etc.

What works easily for us is to have two contracts with the same amount of points. We bank one set of points and borrow for the other one so for each reservation we are using two year's worth of points for one contract, and can reserve the entire stay at the 11 month window (if it's at our home resort).

Then we use the other contract for the following year.
