Hi
as m’y dcl is fast approching well lolll under 3 months is fast for me
first time I have used my platinum status to benefit other

so we booked two rooms
one with me and sister ( for platinum benefits )
one with hubby and BIL

when doing online check in we are best to let’s say
put my BIL CC a for charging ( since it will become their stateroom
and just exchange room cards ( for opening doors

are rooms are not connections since their in an inside and we are in a veranda in a way it would had been simpler I think cards wise

but this way only one person in the cabin will be able to charge ?

wont the room host / hostess find that weird it’s not the same persons in the cabin ?

shall we or should we change everything at port ? Will we be charged for changing names on rooms ? But then will my sister loose the platinum benefits
which we were happy they’d get the palo dinner

i am happy to have them get the palo dinner and room gift but since first time doing this I have those few questions popping in my head as it’s approching
Thanks

No need to exchange KTTW cards, generic cards can be obtained to unlock the cabin doors. You will need to visit guest services.

Charges can also be specified by individual at online check in.

Get blank cards for each stateroom, as long as your sister musters with you and your BIL musters with husband, nobody has to know who is sleeping in what room.

People do this all the time, so the stateroom hosts won't think it's weird. You will specify a payment method for each person (not one for the whole stateroom), and can assign charging priveleges if you want a specific person's charges to go to another person (for example, a child's purchases could go to their parent's account and the parent would pay for it).

You can't just exchange KTTW cards, because yours is tied to you and your charging privileges (plus your photo shows up when you scan it-this is especially important when getting on/off the ship). You have to hang on to your own KTTW card. As PPs said, you can ask for blank ones that will open the other rooms (so you'd use the blank one to access the stateroom, and use your 'given' KTTW card for everything else).

If both you and your husband are Platinum level, then everyone in both staterooms will get free Palo. One of our children was not Platinum when we cruised last December but she still got free Palo b/c she was in our stateroom and the rest of us were Platinum.

Also, both rooms will get Platinum level stateroom gifts.

One person from each room needs to go to Guest Services after you have your original keys and pick up an additional, BLANK, card - NOT a replacement.

Original keys will be outside your cabin after boarding (in a sealed envelope). Usually this is around the time rooms are ready (1-2:30; it varies).

The person who sleeps in their unassigned cabin will need to carry both cards (or be with their partner getting back in the room).

The original-issue card, with pre-printed name, will be necessary to get on/off the ship, go to Muster Drill, and charge anything - drinks, gifts. This is the official card. The blank one is just a door opener.

i don’t know if I am clear sorry if not

but what I mean is can she do her online ( she’ll have to do her cabin with my hubby in it
can she put two different cards to each individuals ?

and when asking for blanks card at port won’t they ask us why we need those ?

again thank you

you can put each individual in the room their cc at check in ?
thanks

When doing online check-in, when it comes to the payment section, you are asked whose onboard charges Person 1 (you) is covering? Just check-mark your own name. Enter credit card info.

Then you will be asked about charges for SIL. Checkmark beside her name. Then enter their family’s (husband’s) credit card number.

You will open each cabin reservation separately. Go through the information step by step. Which means you will enter flight info for each person (unless your in-laws are traveling exact flights with you). But it is step by step.

Blank cards - NOT at the port check-in. Once onboard. At Guest Services in the lobby area. They don’t ask for an explanation. Just ask for a blank (or second) card - NOT a Replacement. (They reprogram ALL your room keys if it’s a replacement.). A blank is just an additional key.

you can put each individual in the room their cc at check in ?
thanks
Yes. You will have to go through for each person and state what their charging privileges are. That will include adding a credit card for each person (and it can be a different CC for each person) or 'linking' them to another person (my example from earlier about a child linked to their parent).

On my last cruise, my parents and I sailed together. For me, I put in my CC#. For my mom, I put in her (my parents') CC#. For my dad, I indicated my mom would pay for all of his purchases (so they go to her onboard account, all in one instead of across 2). Lots of ways to individualize payment options.

Again, don't worry about asking for the blank stateroom cards once you get onboard. This is not an unusual request, and Mickey doesn't do bed checks (meaning, they don't care who sleeps in what room). You just need to make sure you have your own Key to the World card at all times (the one with your name on it), as you'll use that to charge items, get on and off the ship, etc.). You'll use the blank Key to the World cards to get in the staterooms. And make sure everyone goes to the muster station for the room they are listed in, not necessarily the room they are sleeping in.

You'll have to do online check in based on how people are listed on the reservation. But if they are linked you'll be able to access both staterooms anyway, you just have to do them one at a time. Then you'll get blank key to the world cards onboard and you'll be all set.

sorry to ask again
it’s just because it’s my first time doing it this way

if I get it right I can check in my cabin / stateroom
with my credit card
and even though my sister is going to be in the other room she can put her own credit card ?
but I guess it will show ( her expenses ) on my Stateroom bill but under her cc number

and same with the other stateroom ( which will be hers once onboard ) my husbands credit card will show up in her stateroom bill but under his card #

thanks again

You will each get your own statement-per person, not per stateroom. It's not tied to credit card, it's tied to each person's key to the world card. When you do online check in you'll have to enter a payment method (like a credit card) for each person.

Again a big thank you
since we will travel 2 stateroom with each a member not our spouse
i tought I’d put cash as method
and each do the cc st port Canaveral
would that be doable also ?

You can pick whichever charging method you want for each person. Just know that if you select cash for a person, you then have to go to guest services at some point during the end of your cruise to 'settle up' the account.

Again, the charging method is specific to each person; it's not the same across the stateroom. So it really doesn't matter who is in what stateroom, you can put in whatever payment method you want. If you want to put in your cc number for you and also for your spouse in the other stateroom, you can. If you want to put in your cc number for you and a different cc number for your spouse in the other stateroom, you can. If you want to put in your cc number for you and cash for your spouse in the other stateroom, you can (but again, then you need to make sure you go to guest services).

I'm not sure I see a benefit to entering cash at online check in and then entering cc for those people later (and heads up, you don't do that at Port Canaveral, you do that at Guest Services onboard). The only reason to enter cash for people at online check in is to make things go faster to get a better PAT. You can also go in to your reservation at any point after online check in is completed to update things. So, if you don't know the cc information for the other people, you can put cash for them and then either get their cc information later and enter it, or they can log in and enter it themselves. You can also do it at Guest Services once onboard-I personally would rather have that all squared away before I get on the ship, but that's up to you (and I don't see a harm in doing it that way).

I appreciate all of the information on this thread. I do have an additional question I'm hoping someone can help with. If I put my gold status minor in a room with a new cruising family - does this affect getting off at ports? For example, can my child get off with me (in a different room) or with the adults in their room (the first time cruisers). I hope this makes sense! ☺️

I think the people in the room your daughter is “officially” in will need to sign a form giving you permission to take her off the ship. This happens frequently enough that Guest Services will be able to tell you what you need to do.
