Not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot so if not, please move ;)

We are leaving in just over a week. Haven't been to WDW in about a year and half and haven't stayed on property in a decade or more. Anyway, we aren't bringing a computer with us but we do have smart phones. Will our Verizon network work to access the web at Disney? I know that Disney doesn't have free wi-fi but I'm hoping we can get online via Verizon. Also, we have breakfast reservations at Boma one morning. How early do we have to leave POR FQ in order to make our 9 am breakfast? If our flight leaves for home at 2:30 in the afternoon around what time do we need to plan to be back at the resort to catch the ME for the airport? And finally, I did the online check in and thought that somewhere on these boards I read about people requesting certain rooms. There was no place on that form to request a certain room or even building. Would a fax to the resort be appropriate or should we just wait till we get there? We've paid extra for a king bed but we really want to have a riverview too. Thanks!!!:thumbsup2:

I can't answer all your questions, but here are the ones I can.

In order to catch ME back to the airport you have to be in the ME line 3 hours BEFORE your departure time.
So if your plane leaves at 2:30, you have to be ready to board the bus at 11:30am.

You can request a certain type room, just call the reservation phone number and ask them to note it on your ressie. I do this when I make the reservation and have gotten what I wanted each time. It isn't always a guarantee but they try to please you.
The resorts no longer take fax requests.

For your Boma breakfast I suggest you leave your resort (if you are using WDW transportation) an hour before you need to be there. You may be a bit early (suppose to check in at the restaurant 10-15 mins before your adr anyway), but AKL is a wonderful resort to check out.

Good luck, have fun and enjoy your trip!

Okay, As for smart phones, I didn't have Verizon when I went in October, but my phone worked fine there. I didn't use it to the best of it's capabilities though. This trip I have my whole itinerary entered into a note ap, and all of my confirmation numbers. I also have the ride times ap.

The information packet you receive at check-in to your resort will tell you when you need to be back for ME. Also, I have a medical issue, so I called and requested my room. As I just learned here they are no longer accepting faxes, I will probably call before my trip to confirm my room request, and possibly mail something. We'll see. Good luck!

What I know...
DH's Droid worked at WDW. We had to be back to our resort 3 hours before our flight time to catch the DME to the airport.

To request the river view, I would call ahead and have them note your reservation. If you wait until you get there, it's more of a hassle because they have to re-do everything, which defeats the purpose of online check-in. Everything is ready ahead of time with online check-in. From one Western New Yorker to another, enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

I have verizon and didnt generally have bad service in any of the parks...

places where youll have trouble with service:
you wont get service the deeper you get into the line for soarin'
the mexico pavillion
i found very spotty service at the hotel in the rooms i imagine its because they are all just cement blocks... if you are by the window you should be fine but generally i just stepped outside onto the patio (or outside hallway at pop or por)

those were really the only places that I noticed i didnt have service or had spotty service..
