So many questions, so little...well, so much time

My family is headed to Southern Cal in April for the Easter Weekend/ Week after. Our last trip in April 07 was for our honeymoon and we spent a few days at DLR staying at the Candy Cane Inn. For this trip we are using Anaheim as a base for visiting DLR, San Diego, LA, and the SoCal beaches. I am looking hard at HOJO Anaheim and would like some feedback on this. I figured that since Interstate 5 is so close we can easily get anywhere we need to go fairly quickly. Couple of questions about DLR:

1. What will we be looking at crowd-wise the week after Easter.

2. Am I correct in assuming we will have extended park hours and virtually all of the normal entertainment (i.e. Remember....Fireworks) since this is considered a busy week?

3. I have read that Fantasmic will be down during this time. Anyone know for certain? Anything else major down?

I hope that you enjoy your trip.

1) Crowds will be very large and the park will be busy. Use Magic Morning if you have it available. Be sure you are at the Main Gate before the park opens. The park will be opne 8AM to 12 Midnight. You could get there early and then head back to your hotel in the afternoon to swim and then head back to DL later.

2) Yes, extended hours will be avaialble throught the week as well as entertainment such as fireworks, parades, Fantsamic and other events.

3) Fantasmic is scheduled to go down for a refurn in early 2009 but is expected to return by April so I would not worry. Usually during weeks like this all attractions are up and running (expect maybe those in DCA like the Sunwheel which is having a major refurb)

I have never stayed at HoJO but I have heard that it is a nice place with good rooms and very close to the main entrance.

Fly in to San Diego do all you will want there, then
Drive to Anaheim to finish your trip and fly out of LAX.

3. Then there is the ZOO and the Animal SAFARI.

4. Now it is time to drive up to Anaheim to get there easiest, leave SD at 7:00pm!! The traffic will be low at that time.

5. Drive I-5 to Anaheim the Exit[kind of tricky] says Katella Ave when you get to the bottom of the exit it will say Katella/ Disney Way

6. Now from Anaheim you can can have your home base for beachs, hollywood,and Rodeo Drive and DL.

While many love the HoJo, I really like Desert Inn and Suites it has suites and it is very, very close to the DL entrance. I don't walk well.
