So many questions. Pick our (most likely) off-site hotel :)

My question is basically what is the closest (nice) hotel with some sort of children's pool (or splash pad or fountain).

We would like a short walk (doesn't everyone . For those with experience at the Epcot resorts in WDW, we found the walk from BCV to Epcot awesome and did it most days (super short - 5min?) and from BCV to HS (15-20min?) too long for everyday hopping. Also found the Contemporary to MK a short distance (under 10min walk) and awesome. We'd like something similar to those distances preferably the shorter end. I have looked at the hotels and maps already in the DL area but it's so hard to know how long a walk "feels" without doing it.

We also really want a children's pool (or splash pad, or even fountain). This can be the simplest thing or something fancier. It's just that we live in a colder place and the kids rarely get to just splash and play in water often.

Finally if there are multiple hotels within that distance with a kids pool, we'd prefer larger, nicer rooms (again, doesn't everyone) if the price range is similar.

Any suggestions?

Look at Courtyard Marriot Theme Park Entrance/Waterpark. It's about an 8 minute walk to the east entrance.

I would probably look at HoJo - Howard Johnson, just a little further than the Marriott previously mentioned.

Check out the Howard Johnson it's around 10 minute walk. Their Castaway Cove water park was a big hi with friends of ours and their two boys.

I agree with others, Hojo or Courtyard Marriott theme park entrance.

Hojo is a great option. Nice large rooms. Their Castaway Cove splash area is great for young kids (I'd say age 10 and under). They have a separate area with a pool that's nice size and goes to five feet deep (the older kids appreciate this). I love that it's a salt water pool and it was the perfect temperature on a hot day.

The options for the Marriott and HoJo sound great! Does anyone know if there are resort fees or if the waterpark costs extra?

No extra fees at HoJos. Not sure about Courtyard.

There are YouTube videos where people record the actual walk so you really get a good idea of distance.
