So many options, Questions for Nov Possibilities?

Now that it looks like free dining will be available to all through 10/4 I'm really hoping something will be offered for Nov. So I'm starting to plan as if the free dining will be offered and I'll be going in Nov! If not, it's value season for me. :earseek:

So now I have a few questions (This will be our first time ever to Disney DH and DS 5 yr).

First, I've talked to my husband about going and he said if we're flying to FL we're doing it right and are staying 9 nights. I think that might be a little bit overboard! But I guess I shouldn't be complaining. My first question is if I book a 9 night package and change my mind later can I change it to a 7 day without any penalty? Also, do you think 9 nights would be too much. I know it would allow for some down time.

I've done so much research on resorts it's making my head spin. My original choice was POR AB. But with the thoughts of free dining I'm thinking maybe I should upgrade to either WL or AKL. I've done the math and I'm pretty sure it would be $700 more, is it worth it?

Now WL vs AKL. At first AKL really stood out to me due to the animals outside your room. But reality set in and I realized I'd only get a room like that if I was upgraded, I would have to go standard rm. So I'm leaning more towards WL.

Reasons for WL:
Close to MK for 5 yr old son
Close to Poly and Contemp (for dining, visiting and monorail). Would the monorail be useful? WL looks close to Poly and Contemp but is it close enough to use the monorail?
Seems like they have more things to do for son.
Possibly be able to see fireworks from room (my son loves them)

OK am I missing anything that gives WL more of an advantage? How about AKL, is there something I'm missing that would make it a better resort?

Thats it for now. I'm sure there'll be more questions to come. Until then thanks for reading! :flower:

We stayed at the WL in April. I have a DS 5 and a DD 4. We all loved the WL. :goodvibes We got to be the Flag Family. My DS had the most fun raising the flags. The kids loved the pool. It was great to be able to hop on the boat to go to the MK and Chef Mickey's too. The only thing we didn't get to do was go to Fort Wilderness which has lots of things to do with the kids - petting zoo, pony rides, campfire with Chip & Dale.

We are going to WDW Feb 2006 for 8 nights. We are staying at the WL for 6 nights and then to the AKL for 2 nights. My DS loves animals and keeps asking to stay there. My DH didn't want to spend the whole trip at AKL because of the distance from the MK. I can't wait to see the AKL and try out the buses for myself.

I'm sure your family will love either resort. Good luck with your choice! :Pinkbounc
