So Many Characters..So Little Time! Our April Adventure to the World! Complete:)

You guys are having so much fun! Splash Mountain is a favorite of me and DD5! Love it!! Sometimes it is hard to stop and take a moment to enjoy all that is around you, but is so worth it!

It was such a fun morning! We really do love Splash Mountain despite all my complaining about getting wet.;)

I definitely agree with you about slowing down and taking time to enjoy everything that is around you. We were able to see so many things on this trip that we have missed on previous trips.:goodvibes It was wonderful!:cloud9:

Great update Angie!! I can't believe the SHORT wait time at BTMRR at that time!! Awesome! I always too try to plan some Splash "logic" when getting placed in the logs, Gabe and I rode in the back and we missed the splash from the hill by the tiniest of margin! We got soooooo lucky!! So fun that the boys like POTC!! I like that one too, we are also fans of JC, the jokes are great, I am into easy goofy humor I guess!!!:rotfl:

Thanks Beth!:goodvibes I was so surprised to see such a short wait time on BTMRR especially since it was almost noon. At first I thought it was a mistake...but nope we were able to get right on!:thumbsup2

Ooohh....I wish we would have missed the big splash! Oh well! It was still so much fun!

We love the Jungle Cruise! I know it's a ride that most people might skip or say once was enough. But...like you, we think the jokes are great! They get us laughing every time!:thumbsup2

Hey Angie! I'm back and all caught up again. I can't believe the wait times you had at Magic Kingdom. What I wouldn't give for a 10 minute Big Thunder Mountain stand by line.

Hi Lisa!!:goodvibes

Welcome back!! I'm so excited to read all about your trip!!

I know...I was shocked to see such great wait times at MK...especially during Spring Break. We definitely got lucky! (the next morning was EMH, so maybe everyone was waiting to head to MK then...who knows.:confused3)

April 14, 2010~~Our Magic Kingdom Day continued.....

When I left off, we had taken a leisurely walk through Liberty Square and Frontierland, rode POTC and the Jungle Cruise, got soaked on Splash Mountain, and were amazed to see such a short wait time for BTMRR.

As you know already, we couldn't let such a great wait time go to waste. Of course, we hopped in line and it wasn't long before we were climbing aboard our runaway train.

And.... off......we.......go!!!! Chug-Chugging up the hill....of course we love going under the waterfall and spotting the opossums and bats as we turn, dip and drop down all the hills! It was so much fun as usual! In fact, we loved it so much that we decided to ride it again!

Heading back over....

It was just after 12:00pm, when we got done riding BTMRR for the second time. It didn't take long to decide what to do next....our bellies were leading the way. We had built up quite an appetite after all the walking we had done. They only decision we had to make now was where to eat? Well...for us it's not really a hard decision. You see...last April we also did the QSDP and on our very last day at Disney we went to MK and wanted someplace different....a place that didn't serve burgers. Truth be told...we were all burger-ed out!:rotfl: We happened to stumble upon Columbia Harbour House and I'm so glad we did!! It really is such a nice change from the usual counter service food.

Anyway, we walked inside and luckily it wasn't too busy. We were able to walk right up and place our order. The really cool thing at this place is that they let Nick choose from the regular menu...which he loved. Nick's eyes are always bigger than his tummy. He wants the adult portions but he can never finish them.:rolleyes1 We were concerned because at first we thought that it was going to take away our adult CS credits but the CM assured us that they don't separate the adult from the children CS credits.Hmm....I always thought they did??:confused3 Well...whatever... we went with it and Nick had his bigger portion which was a huge treat for him.:thumbsup2

We got our food and immediately headed upstairs. As usual, it was just as quiet as before. I grabbed a table by the window and started passing out the food. Nick got the chicken nuggets with fries, Noah got PB&J, Dh got the fish and chicken basket and I got the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich...YUM! Who knew you could get so excited over just a tuna sandwich!!
chh2010a1-1.jpg

DH and I also got the yummy Apple Crisp for dessert! It was definitely the best CS dessert we had all trip and a nice change from all the prepackaged desserts we were so used to on the QSDP.

As we were finishing up our lunch, well...everyone but Nick that is. (didn't I tell you his eyes were always bigger than his tummy.;)) I mentioned how after lunch we could go on the Haunted Mansion. It was right there outside after all. Nick got this strange expression on his face and said "I won't do the Haunted Mansion...you can't make me!" Um...okay buddy, calm down." I looked over at Noah who's face had just fallen. He really wanted to go...it's all he talked about before the trip, that he was going to be really brave this time and ride all the scary rides!

Since Nick was still finishing up his lunch or pretending to anyway...:rolleyes1 I told DH that he could take Noah over to ride and I would stay with Nick. DH knowing how much I love those Happy Haunts, told me to go ahead and that he would stay behind with Nick. Ahh...such a great guy!:lovestruc I grabbed Noah's hand and off we flew down the stairs and out of CHH and toward the Haunted Mansion. I was so excited.. I knew Noah would love it! (or at least I hoped he would) On our way.....

Yay! We were almost inside....when I hear a little voice from beside me say..."Mommy, I'm not too sure about this." "Do we have to ride?"

Oh no!!! Did Noah change his mind? Would I ever get one of my boys to ride the Haunted Mansion? :rolleyes1

Stay tuned....;)

I love the Columbia Harbor House too. Yummy! And the upstairs location seems so removed from the hustle and bustle. It's great. My kids also think the HM is just too scary!:confused3 I hope you get to go on itpopcorn::

Don’t you just love those short-no wait times?! Why wouldn’t you take advantage of it?! Glad to hear Columbia Harbour House was great! Of course, we were supposed to eat there but never did…it’s ok, something to try on our next trip! And that’s what I wanted to try! Anchors Aweigh! Shucks! Looks mighty yummy! Aww that was soo nice of DH to let you ride! So cute!

I knew it! I knew you would keep us in suspense! Can’t wait to see if he puts on his brave face!

I love POTC! So surprised you haven't ridden before now, but so glad you loved it! It's my favorite - so much so that my ringtone is set to the tune of "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirate's life for me!" It makes me feel all Disneyish when someone calls me, LOL!

I love the Jungle Cruise and I love BTMRR. I love Splash, too, but I always come off looking like a drowned rat. :laundy: Wow at your wait times! You did all that BEFORE lunch? Good going! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see if you made it onto HM. I love that one. too!

Oh, CHH, YUMMY!!! I LOVE the tuna there too and we didn't get there this last trip!!!! GRrrrrr.... We like that it's a change of pace for CS like you guys!!! I hope Noah went on the Haunted Mansion, if I tried to take Gabe on that I wouldn't have gotten the little voice like you did, I would have gotten the crying/screaming voice...:rotfl2:

Awesome you got to ride BTMRR twice!

I can't believe we had never eaten at CHH before this past trip. It is another great choice for quick service!

CHH is the best! Apparently, not too many people are aware of the upstairs seating because it's always so quiet up there. We love it! Until this trip, the boys wanted nothing to do with the HM. It wasn't until I went on it last year with my parent's and we were telling them how cool it was that Noah thought he may like to give it a try.

I know...the wait times were great!! We couldn't just pass them by...which is why we rode it again...and again.;) Oohh...the Anchors Aweigh sandwich is so yummy! You definitely need to give it a try next trip.:)

 Sorry to keep you in suspense....again. Aww...but it's so much fun Keala!!;)

Splash Mountain is the best! Hmm...but I thought you were only supposed to get a little wet on that ride.:confused3 It sounds like most of us get soaked on it...oh well...it's still so much fun!!

We had such great wait times this trip! At least on our MK day. We got a lot accomplished that morning!:)

Hi Beth!
I know...I love that tuna sandwich. It's just such a nice change and everything always tastes so fresh there. We love it!

 I've got that crying/screaming voice before. I'm surprised I didn't get it this time. Then again...I think he really wanted to try it but was just unsure especially with Nick refusing to go.

Awesome you got to ride BTMRR twice!

I can't believe we had never eaten at CHH before this past trip. It is another great choice for quick service!

The boys were so happy they got to ride BTMRR so many times this trip.:thumbsup2

Come on Noah....you can do it!! :cheer2:

 That's exactly what I was saying to him Missy!!

Wheww! All caught up
Oh no! I hope Noah didn't change his mind...

Aww....poor Noah. He really wanted to ride but was so unsure especially without his big brother there beside him.;)

I have no idea what they are doing now but I know last Feb they did not separate Child CS credits from Adult, we just had a total CS amount for our reservation. TS was separated but not QS. At most places we were able to get adult CS meals, it was the resort CS locations that really seemed to enforce it.

I will be interested to see what happens in August. If they don't separate, and we will know on day 1, then I'm not going to stress about it frankly, Eric looks 10. :rotfl:

Your "burger-ed out" is exactly why I'm leery of the QSDP. That and it doesn't cost that much less than the DDP.

I am SO excited to try that tuna sandwich, it is a must do for me!

What wonderful wait times!

Oh no...the "I'm not so sure's"...

he wait times were great!! We couldn't just pass them by...which is why we rode it again...and again
.

We do the same thing when the wait times are slow. I think we rode Splash Mountain 4 times last year, back to back. We just went around again and walked right on. We were soaked, but we were happy! :)

Hmm...I guess I just thought since you paid more as an adult that they would find a way to keep the child and adult CS credits separate. :confused3 Oh well...now I know. Nick was overjoyed that he was able to get a bigger portion and also get a regular dessert. Poor kid..he was getting so sick of cookies and grapes by that point.:rotfl:

I think for a shorter trip, the QSDP wasn't bad. We really weren't concerned about eating at a lot of TS places this time. We had a lot of new things we wanted to do at the parks. However, if we went for a week or longer we would probably pay the extra for the regular dining plan. There are still so many great TS places that I want to try!!;)

Oh...I love that tuna sandwich!! So yummy!!:goodvibes

Hi!! Welcome!:goodvibes

Wow! Splash Mountain 4 times in row! That's great!:thumbsup2 Here I was complaining about getting soaked once.:rotfl: It sounds like you had a great time though. You can't beat those wait times..they're the best!;)

April 14, 2010--More Magic Kingdom.

After riding BTMRR twice in a row, and having a yummy lunch at Columbia Harbour House. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to ask if anyone wanted to go on the Haunted Mansion. Now...I knew I did. But the question was whether either of the boys would want to check it out. On our last 3 trips, all I would get out of them was..."No way!! It's too scary!!" But...this trip, I was hopeful because Noah had mentioned he really wanted to give it a try!

Okay, back to CHH. As you know already, Nick shot the idea down. There was no way he was going to visit those Happy Haunts.:sad2: They didn't sound too happy to him...just downright scary. Noah seemed more than willing and before he changed his mind, I grabbed his hand and away we went down....down the stairs to get in line.

Luckily the wait time was great again. We checked out the sights on the way in....
100_2960.jpg

Noah thought this was very cool when her eyes opened!

However, as we started walking inside and it grew very...very dark. I heard the little voice.

My first thought...oh no! He's changing his mind. I squeezed his hand and assured him that I would be right beside him if he got scared. But, it would be fine...that I had rode it and knew he would love it. I left it up to him. Honestly at that point, I thought we would be heading out...he looked that worried.:worried: As we moved in to the stretching room, I bent down and tried to reassure him again. Much to my surprise when I asked him if he wanted to leave. He shook his head no! He was determined to stick it out!

The room began to stretch and he watched in awe. I kept trying to talk to him quietly to make him feel better. We began to be jostled this way and that way trying to get in some kind of line as we made our way over to our Doom Buggy. Once inside he seemed to relax a little bit and started asking all kinds of questions. I could always tell when he wasn't sure about something because he would get quiet. So I would point out something and say "Hey..that's cool!" and I think that helped. I'm happy to report that by the time the ride ended he was even laughing a little and got such a kick out of the fact that one of the hitchhiking ghosts wanted to come home with us. We both agreed that Nick wouldn't like that very much!

So back in the bright sunlight, we made our way over to find DH and Nick at the place we told them we would meet up. Of course, the first thing Nick asked was "Were you scared?" I laughed when Noah responded "Nah...it was a piece of cheesecake!":rotfl:

At this point it was around 1:00pm. I thought we had covered a lot of ground so far. But, there was one attraction we had skipped that morning because I knew it would be just perfect for this time of the day..when the crowds were picking up and the boys were starting to loose energy.

It wasn't long before we made it to our destination and one of my very favorite things to see in the Magic Kingdom....
100_0859-2-1.jpg

We love this!! We grabbed our 3D glasses on the way in and waited until the doors swung open. We got the customary move down....all the way down. Of course, there were a few people who plopped down in the center of the theater and refused to move so you literally almost have to climb over them to get to the seats on the other side. When we made it to our seat, we put on our opera glasses and the show began.... Ahh...I have so many favorite parts in this show. Let's see...how about when you can smell the pies during the Beauty and the Beast part or hear Ariel sing "Part of that World" and I love flying above London with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell...:cloud9:

After Mickey's Philharmagic, it was about 1:20pm. We knew we wanted to make it back to Main Street around 2 or so to find a great spot for the parade. This would be our first time seeing it and we were very excited! I really wanted to try Tom Sawyer Island. But the boys had other ideas...can you guess?:rolleyes1 Yes...BTMRR....again! Okay, now I love this ride too! But this would make...um let's see 5x this trip. I wasn't sure how long it would take on TSI and I didn't want to rush through it...so ultimately we decided to save it for our next trip. I guess it gives us another thing to look forward to next time.

So off we went in search of another runaway train. It was on our way over that I was able to get my favorite picture of the trip.
100_2961.jpg

Yes...those are my boys....so excited to be heading over to what is apparently now their most favorite ride..that they grabbed hands. This was a complete shock to me which is why I took the picture. You see...these days all I hear is "Mom, he's touching me!" or "Ugh! He's sitting too close to me!" or even. "Get him away from me" You know...as most brothers behave towards each other. This picture is why I love Disney so much.....:lovestruc

After BTMRR, our plan was to take the train over to Toontown to explore and then make our way over to Main Street to stake out a spot for the parade. But on the train ride over, we could see how tired the boys were getting. The love that they were feeling earlier was gone and they started finding things to argue about. "I want to sit there!" "I do!"..... The late night, the early morning, all the walking and the heat were starting to do them in.

At this point, we figured our best bet was to stay on the train and head toward the train station. We sadly waved goodbye to Toontown on the way by although at the time I really wasn't thinking about the fact that it may be our last chance to visit. All I was thinking about is that we needed to get the boys a snack and find a nice shady spot and wait for the parade to begin.

The first thing on our agenda, once we made it back to Main Street was to get some ice cream. Mickey ice cream bars make everything better...right? Well, I was hoping that they would. We spotted Pinocchio as we were making our way toward Main Street. The line was pretty long so unfortunately we passed him by:sad2: and made our way over to find a spot to sit. We found a nice shady spot just across the street from the Emporium. We plopped down, enjoyed our ice cream, and took in all the sights and sounds of Main Street USA. It was nice to just sit, relax and just enjoy being in our favorite place.

A few pictures while we waited.....
