So Many Characters..So Little Time! Our April Adventure to the World! Complete:)

What a fun morning so far :cool1:

So glad the boys liked SM :woohoo: How neat that you saw Alice riding the teacups! I also love the Peter Pan ride, it feels very magical when you're flying:goodvibes

Oh, the Kingdom Keepers books, I was just trying to remember the other day the various books that I wanted to read this summer and that series is on the list :)

Holy Cow! I can't believe how empty the park is! Nice! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you enjoyed Space Mountain. Jeff and I were able to ride this year for the first time since the refurb. I love that it is so dark! It's definitely one of my favorite rides!

You brave girl, going on the teacups! No thank you!

It's too funny that you mention Lake George. We camp in the Adirondacks every summer (this year it's Cranberry Lake), but Jeff's mom always warns us off of Lake George. She got pregnant there TWICE!! LOL! We keep our distance! :lmao:

Oh I HAVE to go get that new Kingdom Keepers book. We saw the new Shrek too but how fun to see it at a drive thru! Shopping!

Are they doing anything on that stage setup anymore since cancelling Stitch? It seems like such a big empty space... shade and seating are in order there!

I can't wait to ride Space Mountain again... it feels like forever since we were last on it. So glad the boys loved it!

Alice! I'm not a teacup fan but I'd ride with Alice!

Peter Pan's Flight :cloud9: Love the pixie dust effect on it too. :goodvibes:

I'm a little sad for Toontown closing too :sad1:

Oh...I know! I can't wait to start reading the new Kingdom Keepers book! So did you like the new Shrek movie? The boys liked it! The drive-in was fun but we felt a little squished trying to see the screen. I think we'll stick to the theater when we see Toy Story.

Hmm....I don't think they are doing anything new... now that they have cancelled Stitch.:confused3 I agree! They should really do something with it!:thumbsup2

Riding the teacups with Alice would have been so cool!! But..we settled for watching her from afar! Apparently, I figured if she could do it than I could do it!;)

Sad about Toontown!:sad2: But...excited about what's to come!!:goodvibes

It was so much fun and nice to wander around the park at a much more leisurely pace than usual!:thumbsup2

Ahh...Peter Pan! It really does feel so magical when you are are flying!:goodvibes Love that ride!:lovestruc

Oohh...the Kingdom Keeper books would be a great summer read!;)

We couldn't believe the park was so empty either!! We kept turning to each other and saying "This is the week after Easter, right?":confused3

Space Mountain was so much fun! I think I was a little shocked at how dark it really is! It does make it feel so much faster! Wow!

 Oh those teacups!! Well...not brave...crazy maybe.:rotfl:

That's so funny that you steer clear of Lake George!:rotfl2: We used to vacation there every summer before we "found" Disney. Where is Cranberry Lake? My aunt has a camp up in the Adirondacks where they spent most of their summer. They love it there! It's so beautiful and so peaceful!!
Your sons are really adorable

Thanks!!:goodvibes I'm so glad you joined in!!!:thumbsup2

April 14, 2010--Magic Kingdom Day continued........

Hi Everyone!

When I left off the other day, we had just zoomed through space, took a spin on couple teacups after a character sighting, and off we flew to Neverland. Quite an adventurous morning if I do say so myself!;)

Now what to do next? You may have noticed by now that I really didn't have a specific plan for Magic Kingdom on this day. I did make a list of must-do rides but the fastpasses allowed us the flexibility that we had never had before. I loved it! The boys though...hmm...not so sure. They are so used to running to this ride and running to that ride before the park gets busy that just strolling through Fantasyland into Liberty Square without hurrying...without running.....walking fast even. They were a little confused.

As we strolled through Liberty Square into Frontierland. I looked around and just enjoyed the sights. Things that I had missed on our previous trips. Look! It's BTMRR in the distance.

You can just imagine the boys excitement when we saw that!!

We saw Donald and Goofy as we were passing through. I wanted to stop and asked the boys if they did. But, they told me they saw them yesterday and they were anxious to ride some more rides.

I did manage to get them to stop here though.....

Poor Noah....he could barely reach!

"Hey Mom, Isn't that Splash Mountain?"
100e3412-2.jpg

"Can we ride it?"
"Um...let's wait a bit okay guys."

Honestly...I wasn't quite in the mood to get soaked just yet...although it is one of our very favorite rides. Besides, I had another ride in mind that I knew the boys would love and surprisingly it was going to be their very first time riding it. So instead of turning right when we got near Splash Mountain as we normally do this time of the morning at MK. We turned left toward......
100_2951-1.jpg

Hmm....Any guesses where we were heading?

Well...I'll give you a little hint.

We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me

Since it was still early morning and Adventureland was just as empty as Fantasyland. We were able to hop right in line with no wait time. Honestly, I can't believe we didn't ride this ride before now because we loved it..especially the boys! They were looking all around. Of course their favorite part was taking the plunge down the waterfall but they also liked finding Jack Sparrow.

On the way out, we stopped to check out the gift shop and Noah was beside himself with joy! I think he could have spent all day here looking at everything and trying everything out. It was so funny! He did walk away with a cute purchase that I will share later in the report!

You will never guess who we spotted on the way out? Jack Sparrow of course!

We stood and watched for a while.....and then we decided it was time for our yearly cruise. Not an anniversary cruise like last year though. (you may remember from our last year's trip as our skipper hollered over to my father after spotting my parent's anniversary buttons..."Hey..it's so nice you decided to take your wife on a cruise for her anniversary!":rotfl: My dad still talks about that! It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip for him.)

Anyways....back to the present time! As we were heading in toward the Jungle Cruise, we stopped to check out the wait time. It was only about a 20 minute wait but since we had our GAD fastpasses and we hadn't even used them yet....we figured...why not? So we grabbed the fastpasses and away we went to explore the Jungle.

Like usual, we enjoyed our cruise. I actually love all the corny jokes even though we may have heard them a few times before.:rolleyes1 They are still pretty funny! We even got to sit in the front of the boat again this time which was very cool! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures this trip...but here are a few from last trip that my Dad took....
100_0714-1-1.jpg

100_0715-1.jpg

After our cruise, we had to wait awhile on another boat ahead of us, so our skipper entertained us with some Disney jokes. So...did you hear this one?
What did Snow White say after she dropped off her film to be developed?
Some day my PRINTS will come.

And this one....
Why can't Cinderella play soccer??
She always runs away from the ball!!

Okay, so after being amused with these types of jokes for about 10 minutes or so. It was finally time to dock the boat and off we went in search of a new adventure!

Of course the boys were itching to head back to Frontierland...they had a runaway train they wanted to ride and a certain rabbit, fox and bear they hadn't said hello to yet!;) So, we cut across Adventureland back towards Frontierland. We decided to head to Splash Mountain first...our logic? Well..if we got really wet then BTMRR would help to dry us off. We decided to use our GAD fastpasses again, although the wait time wasn't really that bad. We grabbed them and got into line. Soon we were climbing aboard our log and I must say I was very relieved to see that we weren't sitting in the front of the log this time but actually in the back. YAY! Um...well not quite.

I sat with Nick and didn't want to take any chances so I sat off to the left knowing that the right side always gets the wettest....yeah right. ( do you see a little foreshadowing here?)

Well...I don't know about anyone else but every time that I've rode this ride. It wasn't going down the big hill that got me soaked...or even any of the little hills along the way. It's always just as we're entering the cave and it's the splash from the other people going down the hill. So, I was all prepared and secretly smiled to myself. I mean we were in the back of the boat...we wouldn't get soaked this time. I was going to enjoy just being a little damp instead of drenched like usual. But...then we are moving and as we are going by the big hill, no one is coming down. What?.....the front of the boat is heading into the cave and SPLASH!!!! It went right over top of Nick and I. The people in front of us turned around laughing that they had missed it. I wiped the water out of my eyes and turned to Nick laughing as well and my only thought...."It figures! That's just my luck!!"

After we recovered...We sat back and took in the sights, waving hello to Br'er Rabbit,Br'er Bear, and Br'er Fox and just enjoyed the ride! Despite all that I say about not liking to get wet...I really do love this ride. Especially, when you think you're going down the big hill and you work yourself up and then it's not the hill....too funny. Then of course the huge drop....we love it!!

We made it back and climbed out of our log. I tried to at least pat down my hair but it was no use. I stopped to take quick picture on the way by. It came out a little blurry but I tried....

100_2955-1.jpg

Honestly, we couldn't get over to BTMRR any faster if we tried. The boys because of course they were excited, DH was just along for the ride and I just wanted to get dry. We looked at the stand-by time and this is what we saw at 11:42am on a Wednesday....the week after Easter!
100e3414-1.jpg

A 10 minute wait time!!! What?? We hopped into line to board our runaway train! Hold on it was going to be a bumpy ride!!!

To be continued.......

I did like the Shrek movie and the kids loved it. I tend to like them more as I see them again (and again and again! ) and catch things I missed the first time around. I thought it was a cute story and a fitting end to the movies.

I can't wait to see the new Fantasyland -- what is it, something like 900-ish sleeps until it's ready? :lmao:

EDIT: Ooo a new update  I'll see it from home tonite!

What a fun morning you're having! I can't believe this was your first time on Pirates! I'm glad you liked it. I always manage to get soaked on Splash too no matter where I sit. Maybe the mountain just knows it's us:lmao: I can't believe BTMRR appears to be a walk on. Maybe we should consider an after Easter trip!

I can't believe you never rode POTC before...especially in a family of boys!! I'm glad you got to ride this time......for me that pirate song is just as bad as "It's a Small World". I end up humming it all day! pirate:

I always get drenched on Splash too..no matter where I sit! Oh well....LOVE that ride!

We went 2 weeks after Easter last year and had great crowds too....shh...don't let the secret out! ;)

Cranberry Lake is in the upper left corner of the map.

That's too funny! I can't believe I didn't know where Cranberry Lake was! It's only about an hour south of us. It's actually pretty close to Tupper Lake where we go through to head to Lake George. Huh? I guess you learn something new everyday!

I'm so excited for the new Fantasyland!! But...it did look so strange to see Pooh's Playful Spot, and Ariel's Grotto gone and the construction walls up while we were there.:sad2:

 on the 900-ish sleeps!! Yeah....that sounds about right!!:thumbsup2

It was so much fun and so relaxed! (if that's even possible at Disney:laughing:) It was nice to take things slow for a change!:thumbsup2

I guess it's good to know that I'm not the only one the mountain doesn't like!:rotfl: I always seem to get soaked on SM....oh well at least we are always there when it's warm outside. I can't imagine riding it and then walking around the park in January...brrr...I would definitely have to go back to the resort to change!;)

Hmm....I'm not sure why we never got around to riding POTC before this trip.:confused3 We had planned to last year but just ran out of time after riding all our favorites. I'm so glad we worked it in this year! The boys loved it! funny about the song! It's on that new Disney Cd we got and the boys are always requesting we play it in the car. UGH! So, I definitely understand where you are coming from!!!

Oops...you're right! What I am saying. It was so busy that week!:ssst:;)

I assume I'll get soaked on SM, or really any water ride. That way if I don't, it's like a present!

I can't believe you hadn't been on POTC before

What a fun day! How amazing without the crowds

splash mtn sounded like a ton of fun! I remember
when we went this February, and the ride had just been refurbished,
and the water was soo high! We were SOAKED in the freezing cold!

Great TR, cant wait to hear more!:thumbsup2

hey angie! Pirates is a lot better now that they have the movie tie ins...we loved that ride! so funny you guys got soaked on Splash...Roman and i were wanting to get wet from the other splashes but it never happened! LOL!can't wait to hear more!

Hmm...that's a good way to look at it! I think I will try to do the same thing next time!;)

I know, I'm not sure why we've never been on POTC. I guess the time factor and the wait times have always been against us.:confused3

It was great not to see any crowds that morning! It was definitely a nice surprise!:goodvibes

Oh...brrrr....Splash Mountain in February!! I love Splash Mountain....but I'm not sure I could take getting soaked when it's freezing out!

Thanks! More to come soon!!;)

Hey Keala!

We loved POTC! I'm glad that they tied it in with the movie! The boys had a lot of fun trying to find Jack Sparrow!;)

We always seem to get soaked on Splash. I thought being in the back this time we would avoid the big splash from the hill...but nope! Doesn't it always seem like the people who want to get wet... don't and the ones that would prefer not to.. do:rotfl:

Hey Angie... caught up again! Didn't I tell you the boys would love the shop outside the Pirates ride?! pirate: I love that shop. And Jack's Pirate Tutorial is always fun.

Those GAD fastpasses are working out so well for you, no rushing!

Ugh I still don't have a picture of the .... what is that called? A torture thingie? Anyways, on my list to get funny pics of the kids in that thing.

I love getting drenched on Splash Mountain for our August visits. November/December on the other hand I'm not so sure about. :worried: I'm always the one that gets soaked!

That's right..you did!:thumbsup2 They really loved the shop outside of POTC...especially Noah! The only way we got him out of it was to tell him that we were heading over to Frontierland. (and they know what that means.;))

We loved the GAD fastpasses but we realized on this day that we could have probably done with out them. The wait times really weren't bad. We were still so glad we had them... they did come in very handy this trip especially on our DHS day!

 Yup...you definitely need to get pictures with the torture thingie.( I have no idea what it's called either). You may have to lift Demetri up though...Noah was just barely tall enough.;)

I didn't mind getting soaked on Splash at all in August, it was so warm...you barely noticed. Hopefully...November/December won't be too bad for you.:thumbsup2

You guys are having so much fun! Splash Mountain is a favorite of me and DD5! Love it!! Sometimes it is hard to stop and take a moment to enjoy all that is around you, but is so worth it!

Great update Angie!! I can't believe the SHORT wait time at BTMRR at that time!! Awesome! I always too try to plan some Splash "logic" when getting placed in the logs, Gabe and I rode in the back and we missed the splash from the hill by the tiniest of margin! We got soooooo lucky!! So fun that the boys like POTC!! I like that one too, we are also fans of JC, the jokes are great, I am into easy goofy humor I guess!!!:rotfl:
