So last night a driver flipped me the bird.......not quickly either, he kept doing it

OMG! People are crazy! This just happened to me on Monday...
I am driving along in a 45 mph zone and end up behind someone
going 30. I decide not to pass since I am about to turn anyway. I adjust my speed accordingly and when the turn lane approachs, she puts her signal on and I do the same- only she doesn't get in the turn lane. So I wait a few seconds and get into the turn lane. I looked back and saw that she did as well. Ok.
I go into the mall parking lot and am unloading the kids, bags, etc. and she appears behind me. She starts yelling at me, telling me I passed her in a turn lane and then didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign in the mall parking lot. She said she was taking down my license plate and reporting me to the police. I was very calm and continued about my business. I told her to go ahead and report me and that maybe I would report HER for being an unsafe driving for going so far below the speed limit. I also asked her if she'd like my name and phone number. She said she'd get it. I then told her to have a nice day. All of this was done with complete calmness on my part.
Later that day, I did stop by the PD and tell them about it. They basically said some people need to get a life. They then gave the kids suckers!
Seriously, how did this lady know I wasn't going to punch her in the face
or worse? Who does that?!?

When people flip me off while I'm driving I always smile and blow kisses from my fingertips. Makes me feel so much to piss them off so much more. LOL

Some girl did that to us, we had our own lane but it's a lane that's both a merge and an exit, so as you come up the direction we were coming you normally merge onto the highway and people on the highway merge to get off. Well we were slightly ahead of this car and we needed to get over, DBF turned on his blinker and sped up to get over ahead of the car next to us, he moves over safely and then she moves over to where we were so she could exit, as she drives by she flips us off....ummm sweetheart, the merge rules are the car in the lead has the "right of way" and then the car behind and you didn't have your blinker on....how are we supposed to know you want to move over? LOL there's a commercial on the radio here about a safe driving course for teens, DD10 says "apparently she didn't take the safe driving course" LOL

Being religious doesn't make the person nice. Being nice doesn't make the person religious. Being non-religious doesn't make the person mean. Being mean doesn't make the person religious.

My point is, the nicest person I ever met was agnostic, the meanest person I ever met one of the more religious people I've met. You have variety within each group.

I never understand why people, like that driver, get so worked up about something little like that, enough to where they have to honk their horn for so long and continuously flip someone off. It's too bad I can't yell at them back.

I remember a couple of years ago it was all over the news that someone somewhere had done a study and found that agressive jerks always had bumper stickers and that there was a direct correlation between the # and the size of the stickers and the jerkiness of the individual driving, but that what the bumper stickers actually said was irrelevant. So the driver with the back of his car plastered in "Jesus Loves you!" stickers was usually as much of a word-you-can't-say-on-the-DIS as the guy with the "Save the Planet" stickers and they were both just as much blankety-blanks as the guy with the "***k you" stickers.

I remember it was theorized that it had to do with the perception of public and private space on the road, along with entitlement. Basically, people with a lot of stickers tend to be the ones who are speshul snowflakes, so to speak.

Back when I use to have XM radio in my car, I use to listen to the contemporary christian music station. One day DH was riding with me and the station really annoyed him, but he listened because he knew I liked it. I was really annoyed at another driver and honked at him. DH commented, "how is that Jesus music working out for you?" I shot back, "really well, because I really wanted to flip him off, but I thought you really shouldn't flip people off when you are listening to christian music, so I just honked instead!"

That is what I always do. A smile, a little wave and some kisses. I love the confused look that comes over their faces.

I was turning right, stopped at a red light, fully stopped, then inched up to start to turn, then see that the cars directly across from me have the left turn green light and are turning, so I stopped turning as this car was turning, didn't even come close to entering the lane/road, and he starts beeping and giving me the finger, and it was a continuous beeping and the finger stayed up even as he passed me and it was still up as I watched him drive on!!!!

I didn't try to cut him off, I stayed put after I realized I couldn't turn. Come on chill out, there was no need to be so nasty, especially with all those Jesus stickers on your car!!

It is idiots like this that give other Christians a bad name. Some people love to announce that they are Christian with all their adornments and bumper stickers but when it comes to walking the walk they do a horrible job.

Personally, I think he was just an idiot. A bad day would have been him flipping the wrong person off and getting his car run off the road or shot at. You never know who anyone is these days or what they are capable of. To drive around flipping people off is inviting trouble.

Not making an excuse for his behavior, but maybe some of them are used cars and they did not bother taking down the bumper stickers which may have created extra work for them . You should travel with some holy water or blessed oil and throw it at them every time they do something like that.
