So last night a driver flipped me the bird.......not quickly either, he kept doing it

and he had religious stickers all over his car. Not trying to make this religious. but I see people in cars like that and automatically think they must be nice, kind, etc etc

so what happened..........
I was turning right, stopped at a red light, fully stopped, then inched up to start to turn, then see that the cars directly across from me have the left turn green light and are turning, so I stopped turning as this car was turning, didn't even come close to entering the lane/road, and he starts beeping and giving me the finger, and it was a continuous beeping and the finger stayed up even as he passed me and it was still up as I watched him drive on!!!!

I didn't try to cut him off, I stayed put after I realized I couldn't turn. Come on chill out, there was no need to be so nasty, especially with all those Jesus stickers on your car!!

Were you in MA? Seriously, there are some angry drivers in my neck of the woods. I had someone flip me off once too, and my DS was 4 or 5 at the time and he said "Hey Mom, that guy thinks you are #1!" . "Yes, dear" I said "He thinks Mommy is the #1 driver!"

Yeah... here, too. I myself have done it a time or two (or twenty or thirty... )

It's usually followed by a long honk, being cut off, and then having the driver slow down to well under the speed limit to "show you".

Haven't been flipped off in a while, but I love the dirty looks I get when I come to a complete stop at a stop sign even tho there's not another car in sight (besides the one behind me). My DD had to go to court for not coming to a complete stop, and hopefully it taught her a lesson...it sure taught me!

I "waved" to someone on my way to school one day (about 30 years ago!), and on my way home, got pulled over by a cop...the guy I had "waved" to earlier. Another lesson learned!

I have a wonderful friend who is very religious. She has those stickers all over her car. Her DH refuses to ever drive her car because he has to behave too much when he's driving the "Jesus-mobile.) At least he recognizes the issue.

My friend and I were in my car and we were the first people to come across a one car accident where the driver, an elderly woman, had driven off the road and swiped a tree. She was ok, just badly shaken up, we called 911 and stayed with her till help arrived. As we were leaving, we noticed that her bumper sticker read "God is my co-pilot". My friend commented "God clearly needs driving lessons, or glasses." The tow truck guy laughed and said that he has towed more than one car that God was apparently co-piloting!

My brother was driving thru town one day, and he saw a car in front of him with the bumper sticker "Honk if you love Jesus." So, my brother thought "what the heck" and honked his horn. The driver of that car gave my brother the finger.

Religious or not, we are all human and do things that are inappropriate. Guess they were having a really bad day.

Being religious doesn't make the person nice. Being nice doesn't make the person religious. Being non-religious doesn't make the person mean. Being mean doesn't make the person religious.

My point is, the nicest person I ever met was agnostic, the meanest person I ever met one of the more religious people I've met. You have variety within each group.

I never understand why people, like that driver, get so worked up about something little like that, enough to where they have to honk their horn for so long and continuously flip someone off. It's too bad I can't yell at them back.
