I always do laundry mid trip. Works great while my daughter and DH are swimming. So to me, you are taking way to much clothes. I would take a few summer and a few spring outfits and go from there. We also only take one swimming suit per person. I take clothes pins and hang it up in the shower when we are done.

Have a great trip....oh, and can I come along?

We are leaving on 22nd March and I have packed so far mainly summer clothes - with extra sweatshirs/hoodies for mornings and chilly evenings.
Loads of Tees is the way forward I think.

Have a great trip - see you there.

Sarah

8 days to go! :cheer2:

Where are you staying, and how are you getting there?

When we went in December, I went to weather.com and got the 10 day forcast the day before we left. I waited to pack until then. We were there for eight days, and I brought 12 outfits (two short sleeve t-shirts, the rest long sleeved, and pants) for my twins (age 2) and ten outfits (sweatpants and short sleeve shirts) for my son (age 6). My girls had no shorts that fit them, but I did have some capri pants. My son had two pairs of shorts. I OVERPACKED BIG TIME!

We stayed in a 2BR at SSR, so I had a washer and dryer. I could've brought soooo fewer clothes! The weather when we were there was WARM, usually around 75. My son just wanted to wear shorts, my girls just t-shirts and capris, and everyone brought new shirts the day we got there. My kids had sweatshirt jackets, and that was fine.

I think you have too much, but that may be because I WAY overpacked, and didn't need to!

If I had to do over again, this is what we would bring:

4 pair shorts
one pair capris
one pair pants
five t-shirts, short sleeve
hooded sweatshirt
2 bathing suits (one will ALWAYS be wet, one will ALWAYS be dry!)
2 beach towels
one pair sneakers
one pair flip flops
2 pairs p.j.'s
seven pairs underpants

My kids don't wear sandals or tank tops, so I can't be of any help there. Also, keep in mind with the above list that I did laundry (NO, I didn't plan on it, that's just what happened) and everyone purchased at least one new t-shirt while we were there.

Good luck, have a great trip, and try not to overpack!

We are leaving Weds. and I am packing a lot less for my DDs. I am bringing :
5 shorts
7 t-shirts
2 capris
2 jackets
sweatshirt
2-3 pajamas
2 swimsuits
1 long sleeved shirt and jeans for trip home
flip flops
they will wear their sneakers
I have checked weather.com and it will not be very hot (70s) for us this week.
We are flying and can't bring that much. Oh, and we will be there for 5 days and 2 days to travel.

we are staying offsite at celebrity resorts?? my mother in law has a timeshare so you can't beat the price FREE!!!

anyways,,,i usually do do wash on our trips, never plan on it,i try not too,and i will never forget the one timeshare we stayed in the washer didn't work so i was happy i brought extra clothes,,

i'm one for rather have more then enough then not enough,,but i too think i'm overpacking with that list,,LOL

so i'll be taking all your lists into account when i finally do pack,,

my packing rountine goes like this, the day before,,its usually lasts a few hours
pack,too much
unpack
repack again,omit somethings
unpack
repack again
and so on and so on,,until i convince myself its fine,,LOL

i definitly need a few hours,,i HATE overpacking BUT i ALWAYS do it!!!

thanks for your input!!

oh btw,,we are flying!!! and i didn't include the clothes for the trip there or back,,i usually go with comfy clothes for the plane,,but it's only a 2-3 hr flight,,not bad!!

I have done laundry on trips but absolutely HATE taking the time. Thus, I am taking many pairs of shorts and tee shirts (the pile keeps growing) for our trip March 24-April 1. If it turns cold, we will simply buy what we need. (I figure we'll be buying Mickey-sweats or tees anyway.) I used to really worry about the kids' clothes for our trips, but I've found it's just not worth the stress.

We are staying offsite also, so I will have a washer/dryer in the unit. I will likely wash the kids stuff midway through the trip. This is mostly because my kids tend to have those few "special" outfits that they love.

So I'll pack 5 shorts each, 5 tshirts each, undies, socks, sneakers, sandals, pajamas (3 each) and 1 sweatshirt each. I will skip the coats. I may substitute capris for shorts for DD. I will pack at least 2 bathing suits for each.

We are going in May for 7 days. We will be flying.

Now "my" packing list will be a completely different story ;)

LOL...are you moving in?

That's a lot of clothes for one kid. Of course, I just finished packing my son's bag and my husband joked that I will need to change him 3 times a day in order for him to wear it all.

Kids clothes are small so have fun with it, but to answer your question you have more than enough. Keep in mind that many people buy tshirts and sweatshirts from the gift shops and wear them too.

Have fun!

LOL,,YES!!! i'm moving in,,LOL,,too funny,,

like i said i'd rather have more then enough then not enough and my dd also has thos fav outfits she likes to wear!!! hehehe,,

sooo i've got the point,,duly noted,,if i pack all on my list i am WAY OVERPACKING!!! hehehehe

thanks again

I want to print out your list to show my Husband. He claims I over pack! Sorry I couldn't resist. One place I would really cut down on is the Pj's. I found my kids were so tired at night they usually fell asleep in the T shirt they had on and just pulled their shorts off and crawled into bed. I will never bring extra sets again.

Another thought do you really want to bother with tights in Disney bathrooms, they seem like a real bother to me just put socks on her, it isn't a time to worry about fashion correctness. If you are taking a jacket I would only bring 1 long sleeve shirt and 1 sweatshirt. IMO 4 swimsuits are overkill, my kids are lucky if they have 2.

Nobody mentioned princess dresses??? I am bringing my neice (3) in May and she already has her 5 (yes I said 5) dresses already to go....I am not even sure she is bringing anything else to wear!!!! :teeth: :confused3 :teeth:

That looks alot like my teenage daughters list, just add more shoes and drop the tights, lol. She always ends up taking a ton of clothing and usually only wears about half of what she took. Now for my younger dd we are packing
8 short sleeved shirts
1 Jeans
2 Capris
3 Shorts
2 Skorts
8 Socks and undies
5 pjs
2 swimsuits
1 lightweight Jacket

We also plan to do laundry atleast once while we are gone.

I wish my dd would wear those cute little princess dresses but she insists on dressing up like darth vader or spiderman, lol.

no no,,its quite alright,,i know if you made a list that made me look better i would print it out,, lol,,my husband says the same, its true tho, hehehe,,i wasn't too sure about the tights since it will be disney, and besides i was thinking the tights would be more for nitetime outings then daytime,,we have gone all winter in NY with skirts and tights,,i just figured i'd bring 1 or2 pr just in case,,i'd rather have knee highs and NO you are right i don't want to deal with tights,

PJs i bring since i always fear an accident at nite,,she is just potty trained a year now and nite trained for some months now,,but with my luck if i don't bring enough,,she will pee!!! lol so i'll just stick with 2 nitegowns, her new capri pjs and one warm pr,,jsut in case!!

as for swimsuits,,we narrowed it down to 3,,so i'm ok with the swimsuits,,lol,,she has amillion!!!and they really don't take up that much room,,she has her own suitcase

do you really think its gonna be humid in march?? i lived down there in south florida years and years ago and don't remember it being soo humid in march???
my mom is coming and she had asked that question,,i figured it would be nice down there and not humid!!!

dawn

oh btw the way,,the princess dress is a given,,LOL,,i didn't mention it cause i was only mentioning the clothes we would be wearing on a daily basis,,,

we are bringing our sleeping beauty ensemble since we will be dining with the princesses at the castle on sunday!! lol,,,we are bringing the dress, the shoes(which i didn't want to) the crown and the wand!!! lol but we are only bring ONE dress!!!!

dawn

soo,,let me see now that i'm thinking more about it,,lol..like i wasn't before

you all are tellin me i should pack more summer outfits then spring,,like i should pack one summer outfit per day and add a few capris and maybe one pr of jeans and some sweatshirts in there just in case???

so i would be bringing,,7-10summer outfits(1 per day plus), 2 pr capri and one pr jeans, 2 sweatshirts, pjs, bathingsuits, socks and undies???

is that right???

"Is it going to be humid in March?"

I'm sorry, this comment made me laugh out loud! We were there in December and it was humid! Not as bad as May, but still, HUMID!

Reminds me of the Disney Food Special that was on the Food Network a few weeks ago. There was a chef trying to make a sugar tube, and it wouldn't set. He kept asking "Is it humid today? Is it humid outside?" The filming was in October in Disney, so, yah, it was humid! :)

Have a great time - and I'm glad you're rethinking the tights!

Speaking of Disney princess dress. Can anyone tell me where to find one? On the Disney store site....it will take weeks to get...and they are currently not carrying them at the Disney Store here. Me and my dd(7) are doing the princess tea.....cant wait!
