Hey y'all! Looking for some help from those that have been in July before.

I've been to WDW 5 times- 2 times in Sept and 3 times in May (all different years). We are gettin' the itch to go again and hubby up and says "let's go this July"! (Gotta love that man! )

So, our last visit was May 2005 and it was like 97 degrees by 10 am...Just how hot is it in July??? :sunny:

Thanks for the help.

Sarah

I have never been in July, but I have been in August. If July is anything like August, the humidity and heat can sometimes be almost unbearable. I am not bothered by the heat and humidity that much, but August always gets me. But it's Disney World and I go anyways! :)

'Tis hot--bloody, bloody hot. But it is do-able--and trust me, I'm no fan of the sun or humidity.
When we were at WDW last summer, I remember thinking I could part the air with my hands--it was so thick and palpable. We took long lunches in A/C, drank lots of water, used the battery powered personal fans, went into A/C attractions during the afternoon hours, avoided lines in the sun, headed back to the hotel for swim/naps in the afternoon, and loved it so much we'll be back end of July/early August this year!
Have a great trip! :sunny:

it's so HOT it hits you in the face - so to speak. since your Belles mom - assuming you have a little one - make sure to keep water handy in the parks. i've seen lots of tips on these boards for little ones. mine are all teenagers and it's still hard to keep them from being cranky in the heat!! we will be there in aug AGAIN - so it can't be that bad!

Imagine living an inch from the sun...now imagine you also live underwater. That was Florida for us last July. And guess what? We're going back...this time in June, but I would go in July, August, or ANYTIME. After all, it IS Disney. Have a great time and just listen to everyone's tips about how to stay cool! :sunny:

That is pretty accurate. Imagine one big hot oven. You know how when you open your oven door to check your food, you get that blast of heat, well that is what it feels like when you walk outside.

Humidity so high that within minutes you are soaking wet.

Drink lots of water, use lots of sunscreen, get out of the heat from 11-2 and rest each day out of the sun.

HI, HOWEVER you will FREEZE :cold: in most restaurants and stores! I take a light sweatshirt to wear indoors in July, especially when eating. Really -there is so much air-conditioning, it is easy to take advantage and cool down before becoming overheated. Also DRINK plenty of water! We will be there the end of July(our usual time of the year!) Joan

I went at the end of July beginning of August and OMG its hot hot hot... We kept fans on us at all times and when it was just too much we would just jump in and out of the air conditioned stores. If you do go in July just make sure you are prepared for the heat! :sunny:

I have not been there then, but I guest it's got to be Hot and Humid.

:sunny: Our first trip ever was in July. And that was our ONLY trip in July. It was so hot that when we got back, my mother had to be treated for burns around the top of her socks from heat bouncing off the pavement!

Jimmy Buffett put it this way; "you'll be dancing in the heat to the beat that makes your clothing clammy"

Yikes!
We apply lots of sunscreen often and everywhere. I love the ones that spray on clear now--feels like we're covered in shellac, and they work perfectly! :sunny:

Thank you so much for the info. I love the oven analogy. I know too well how that feels. Makes my contacts kinda "suck up" or tighten to my eyes...UGH!
I am a little scared, but still considering it. I mean- it is Disney :thumbsup2

The biggest difference from your last May trip (97 degrees) will be the humidity. We went once that was miserable(of course I was 5 months pregnant at the time) But the last time, two years ago, it was not as bad. Drink lots of water and enjoy the following: The People Mover, The Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents. These are our favorit places to cool off. Hope this helps!

We go often in late July into August. It's usually anywhere from 88-95 degrees on average. We've had cooler and we've had hotter on isolated days. Very humid----but it's not far off from Phila summers so we're pretty aclimated to it. Philly is pretty humid in July/Aug as well.
We just plan our days accordingly. Start out early in the morning........rest during the major heat of the day.......then back to the parks after 6 pm. Doesn't bother us at all.....but then again we're summer people ! We'll take heat and humidity ANY day over frigid cold/snow/ice of the winters ! Better to sweat than to freeze we say :cool1:

Humid..just so humid. I thought it was hot in May, but that humidity in the summer just grabs me. It really affected my asthma, and I spent way too much time in rest rooms and stores trying to breath. No more summer for us..even Disney wasn't worth it!

We go to WDW every summer. Either in late July or in August. Yes, it is hot, yes, it is humid. It is here in Massachusetts too, but I would rather be in WDW!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Seriously, as other's have posted, we always spend the hottest part of the day back at the resort relaxing. Then we go back to the parks in the evening. I love WDW in the summer! :sunny:

We have been in July twice and are going back this year in July. It is HOT, mister fans are a must, AR in AC are a must and paln your day so you are at the hotel pool after lunch. I live in KY and to me it is not that much different because our humidity is so high I think FL is more bearable plus you can always depend on an afternoon shower.

Hot & Humid as many have said ahead of me. However with the showers usually in the p.m. you will freeze when you get inside if you are soaked. So use discretion, I see many sunburn people here at MK throughout the day. I will surely sell you a Mist Fan and Sun Screen :thumbsup2
