so is Jack Sparrow now in PoTC ride?

its definitely a classic, I wouldnt mind seeing them do an entirely new pirate ride, as long as they kept PoTC

I don't know, I'm usually a purest, but I think them adding one scene from the movie with say Captain Jack and Barbossa wouldn't be a bad thing, as long as they kept the rest of the ride as is. That being said, looking at my signature I'm sure you can understand why I'd be all for a little animatronic Johnny Depp on the ride..... (and yes I've been a fan since before Pirates came out :teeth: )

But when you've been on the DL version it kinda spoils you I guess.
But MK does have some better versions of rides, in my opinion Splash Mountain is better here. . . . so I guess it kinda evens out.

Ditto on both counts.
Add "Fantasmic!" and "Haunted Mansion" to what is better on the West Coast.
Undecided as to which BTMRR is superior (nod to WDW).
Nothing compares to "Indianna Jones" at Disneyland!

However, I was really disappointed to find out that she had been in some very adult movies, including nude sex scenes.

An actress in Hollywood dropping trou?

Oh my!

Agree with Haunted Mansion and Indiana Jones being superb on the West Coast, but if you're after the best BTMRR, you've got to go to Paris I'm afraid!

From the August 30 Al Lutz column on www,miceage.com

What's also been officially thrown into that marketing mix is the revamped Pirates of the Caribbean. While a few websites have mentioned rumors of a "Pirates of the Scare-ibbean" version of the ride, that's not what Imagineering (WDI) currently has planned for Disneyland's version. Instead, Disneyland's Pirates will be getting a movie makeover with a scope more like the 1997 rehab that added several new figures and became infamous as the embarrassing attempt to make the pirates more politically correct.

A new Johnny Depp animatronic will show up in several of the ride's most iconic scenes, even adding dialogue to the dunking of the mayor. A Barbarosa figure will also be added, and his morphing skeleton effect is said to be quite impressive. Many props from the movie will be added to the ride's sets, there will be newly digitized audio tracks and some modern upgrades to the circa-1967 special effects. Hopefully the positive vibes about this project leaking out of WDI mean next Spring's update to the 40-year-old attraction will not only keep the original's spirit intact, but make it fresher and more relevant to 21st century audiences.

Cheers.

PS. I am fully in favor of giving creative people the ability to create, even if it means the loss or alteration of one of my favorite attractions.
