So is Disney rooting for or against 'Nemo'?

In this case, however, greed would require a big investment and an admission of a past mistake.

What's more likely is if Pixar goes bye-bye, Eisner (if he's still around) will try to hook-up with other CGI houses, as he has already started doing.

Really, Pixar has put out 4 successful CGIs, plus there's Ice Age and Shrek. Why should we think one more will convince him to borrow the money to rebuild what he already declared a failure?

Its much easier, and less costly UP FRONT, to just sell the brand name to somebody else.

Maybe because this is the last film in the deal. Why spend the money until you had too.

I think there are two more films in the deal if I'm not mistaken. That doesn't mean the decision won't need to be finalized much earlier, but it does allow room for play, which explains the amount of noise were hearing right now.

This will get much louder on Monday.

Pixar's going to use the company's value as a bargaining tool but if the politics are too icy we have a severe flaw in the success of any extended partnership.

A future association really may be in the best interest of both parties. Pixar is literally fueled by this relationship and Disney has by far the best mechanics to promote, market and distribute this type of product.

We're back to that love/hate relationship which may generate enough volatility to provide that secret ingredient to success.

If NEMO is the last picture in the deal then what was that teaser for 11/2004 i saw called the Incredibles disney/pixar?

It looked hilarious by the way.

I think the company is rooting for NEMO and will start pushing the INcredibles asap.

Personally, my dream for what I'd love to see is for Disney not to redo the deal with Pixar.

Instead, I'd rather Disney make Lassiter the head of animation and give him whatever he wants, including the budget to hire whoever he wants and bring whoever he wants with him. I wish that they had put the 5 billion they put into the family channel into pixar stock.
