So irritated by Disney credit card I could just scream!

Well, a $5000 limit would not be enough for me per month--I charge absolutely everything I can and pay it off at the end of the month, so I understand where the OP is coming from. I don't want to deal with multiple cards and I would have done the same thing she did. On a side note, we just remodled our kitchen and Lowe's was offering 1 year interest free, so I thought what the heck--we applied and it came back with Congratulations you have a $1000 limit--well that isn't going to cut it since my cupboards and counter top will be well over $10,000. I said, nevermind to the cashier who offered to call to have it raised--within 10 minutes I was approved for a $15,000 line so I think it is just a Chase thing. Chase is awful with initial credit offereings.

That has not been my experience. My wife and I never pay finance charges but we will carry a balance as long as the APR is 0% and there are no balance transfer fees. We also carry a couple of different reward cards. So between us we have 5 cards through Chase and they all have credit limits over $15k - some over $20k.

Yet whenever I apply for a Citi card I get only a $7900 limit. This includes my first credit card ever owned, from back when I was in college almost 20 years ago. I have tried to get this card increased several times but have not been successful. Go figure ..... :confused3

I got so frustrated with my Disney Chase card, I cancelled it. Guess what, they continued to send me statements on a paid off account! Then they kept billing me for the "card protection" fee. When I called about it, they said I never cancelled the "card protection" service, so since it was an auto pay service, they didn't close the account! That's NUTS! You better believe I got that card protection thing closed and the account closed again! Now I'm waiting until next month to see if they actually DID cancel it this time. I cut the cards up a couple months ago, so no need to worry about THAT. I think it's a poorly run banking business.

They make plenty of money on interchange fees and things you don't get to see.

lol, they are truly unbelievable. Yeah maybe I'll keep the card protection service on the account I just closed! :confused3

A $5000.00 limit would be too low for DH. He has to use his cc for business travel, then gets reimbursed. Plane tix alone could eat up $5000.00 really fast. He has the Disney Visa, and tries to use it for the rewards. I've never asked him, but I guess he just goes to another card if he hits the limit on the Disney card.

I'm like the OP. I like having one credit card, that's it. The $5000.00 limit is too low. Suppose you went to WDW in December. You charged your trip, plus you still have to pay for Christmas presents for the kids. Way too low.

it is strange my DS 20 has a disney card at 5000 and a providian at 15000 and I don't know what his citi bank is but he doesn't have any debt and only charges what he can pay off. I think my DD 22 got disney when it came out at about 3000 but air tran is like 20000 and I think SWA visa is like 4000 again pays in full each month and no other debt and she makes more than his part time job and their friens only have 500-750 CC

:confused3 Just recieved my DCC and it has a cash access line of $5000.00 and a credit line of $25,000.00. :confused3

Everyone should get a copy of their credit report and make sure all the accounts they think they closed are actually closed. We had a situation with AMEX where we asked for two accounts to be closed...found out several months later that they had just "suspended" the account instead of closing it. If there are several of these, that could be why some people are getting new cards with lower credit limits (because their credit report already shows "X" amount of credit being issued on cards you may not even know still have you listed as an account holder).

Ok, I will try and make this very short. First let me say that I don't need anyone responding with "must be nice" type comments. I am not bragging or shoving anything in anyones faces. This is just fact.

Ok, that said, here we go. I applied for a Disney CC a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I thought that we would change from our current credit card to the Disney one. Please note that I only have one visa card at a time. That is just the way I like it. When my card came I looked at my credit limit and it said $3000.00. What? Not going to cut it. So I called and asked to please have my credit limit raised to what my current CC limit is. $13,500. I was told that they had to once again tap into my credit reports to see. I said fine and went about my day. Well I just checked and they raised my credit limit alright. To a whopping $5000.00! So I called and asked why exactly I did not get the credit limit I asked for. The girl said that the notes said that I did not qualify for anything I higher. Are you kidding? I am not going to say how much I make a year but it is obviously enough for my Wells Fargo Visa to give me a $13,500 credit limit! And my only debit is my house and a home equity loan not to mention I have perfect credit. So I just told the girl to cancel my account immediately. I was so mad I could have spit nails!

Interestng. I applied about the same time you posted and was expecting a low limit as well. I got the card today and it had a credit limit of $22,000 which is about the same as my First USA card. Don't know why but I wil give it a try. Best of luck to you.
