does it hurt? I've always had really good teeth up until about 6 months ago...2 wisdom teeth out and now a good teeth cleaning....the wisdom teeth pulling didn't really hurt. Does this?

You've never had your teeth cleaned?

No, it doesn't hurt at all, they just get all the plaque off and polish them up nicely. :)

I get my teeth cleaned every six months and I'm weird enough to look forward to it, I love my dentist and the hygeinest. :)

Sometimes yes, most the time no. :)

I just had mine done today, squeaky clean.

Every 4 months for me. Have you never had your teeth cleaned by a dentist? Painless.

Beth, it's not too bad. I have small teeth and they always do an "oops" when they use the floss on my teeth, but other than that, it's not too bad.:) And your teeth will thank you for it afterwards.:) You can't compare the wisdom tooth pulling to a cleaning. I have a good comparison of the 2, but I might not should put the comparison on the dis.;)

Jason, :earseek::teeth:.

Jason you are cracking me up as usual.

Thankfully I have always had good teeth, they have always been white and never given me any problems until the first of the wisdom tooth started hurting. Plus John just got really good dental insurance that pays for 100% every 6 months.

If you're nervous about it (and if they have it) ask for the gas. I always hated going to the dentist until I met my husband and he was really EXCITED about going to the dentist. I found out it was because he got the laughing gas every time he went so it was like a free high to him :) I always called him a whimp until I started seeing his dentist too. When they give you that gas its like you drift off into another world and its just so relaxing you just fall asleep while they clean away :)

I love the way my mouth feels after I have my teeth cleaned :)

Beauty, you might want to take a couple of ibuprofen before you go. It's not painfu while they're cleaning but sometimes my gums will hurt afterwards, from all the "scrubbing".

And I'm like Michelle, I kinda look forward to going....I like the really clean feeling afterward.

No doesn't hurt a bit. I have had mine cleaned every six months for as long as I can remember!!

I need to get that done too. I'm WAY overdue. My gums hurt afterwards, but I don't floss regularly, and they usually bleed a little during the cleaning.

I bought one one e-bay a few weeks ago and my teeth feel like they are cleaned every day! I love it :).

I just had mine done yesterday. I go religiously every 6 months for a check up and cleaning. Thank goodness for Dental Insurance.
I don't find it uncomfortable at all.

Beth, even if you have perfect teeth it is CRUCIAL to get them cleaned every six months! There is no way to get them as clean as they need to be without regular cleaning by a dentist, and you are just inviting periodontal disease by not going to the dentist regularly for cleaning.

I hope you have a great dentist who makes you make the NEXT appointment after getting your teeth cleaned tomorrow. :teeth:

Even Simba had his teeth professional cleaned!:teeth: If Simba can do it, Beth can.:D

It doesn't hurt at all, Beth!! I have mine done every six months! Have been since I was 4 years old! I love the way my teeth feel after a cleaning! :)

I am a weird one that looks forward to it as well.

Really, it doesn't bother me at all.

Okay, I must be the weird one. I get mine cleaned every 3 months, and yes it does feel great afterwards. It can be a bit of a wet experience sometimes, and any areas where your gums have receded might be a bit sensitive, but overall, no big deal.

You'll love how they feel Beth! :)

I have it done every 6 months. It hurts a little(my hygentist is very tough, but a nice person), but its a good kind of hurt. Like you know they are getting very clean. I enjoy it!
