I go every six months and it doesn't hurt at all. I use the Oral 3D electric toothbrush and ever since I started using this toothbrush a few years ago, my dentist appointments have been much more pleasant. There is very little scraping (I hate that) and the appointments are quicker because they don't have to spend as much time on them. You'll be amazed at how good your teeth will feel afterward. I'm really slack about medical check-ups, but my teeth get cleaned on schedule.

And, if John-Cole isn't already getting his teeth cleaned every six months, make sure to make him an appointment also before you leave the dentist office tomorrow.

The people on here that are telling you that it doens't hurt or hurts very little. Keep in mind, they have theirs done on a regular basis. IF you've never had them done, I wouldn't be sure there's not going to be any pain. There are many, many years of plaque and tarter built up on your teeth.
