My wife and daughters and I (huge Disney fanatics) often get into insane, and sometimes just silly, hypothetical Disney questions. But they can be fun. Recently we asked "If you could somehow take Walt Disney himself to any single attraction at WDW (or DL) today what would it be?" So we were curious what y'all would say. Keep in mind, you only get a few minutes with Walt, so you can show him only one attraction, to show how far the magic has come! Silly question, I know. Don't laugh at our Disney nerdness. What say you?

Our picks:
Me: CTM/ Wishes (sorry - counting that as one)
Wife: Soarin
DD: Soarin

Radiator Springs at DCA. It out of all the areas in any Disney park is like you have stepped into the movie

It may be because I've been reading The Disney Mountains (great coffee table book on imagineering), but I'd say Expedition Everest so he could see how the company has built and expanded on the traditions he and his imagineers established with the Matterhorn. Or, given the updates I've seen on Youtube, the Matterhorn itself (hey, I'm not the only one to have both a WDW and DL answer, it's not cheating!).

WDW: Mickey's Philharmagic! Just the amazing advances in the industry he was great in, and imagine the things he could tell you about what he did in the past. Just for the conversation this one would be my top pick.

DLR: Toy Story Midway Mania! Just lots of fun!

Tower of Terror at DHS. I think it is by far the most immersive theming of any ride experience. Plus, I think he would find it cool that the immagineers could use such amazing modern technology to tell an old style story. Twilight zone and the glitzy years of Hollywood. I have often said Walt would be proud of that one.

There are so many that I think he would like. Splash because of the music and fun-I've never gotten off of that ride and not felt blissfully HAPPY!

I think that he would very much love all of AK, especially the Safari.

Gee this is a hard one.............there are indeed so many attractions Walt would have loved. Well I would say 7 dwarfs Mine Train. He would love this amazing attraction and the animatronics.

However I am sure he's watching from above. They say all Disney *upper ups*, have a nightmare of Uncle Walt coming back and taking him on a tour of the many parks and Disney Inc. in general. Then enjoying his praise of the many attraction, movies and things Uncle Walt would surely approve of:-). Then....:headache:.....:scared:............having to answer to him about the things he would not like:mad:!

AKK

I would have to say (and this is a hard one) COP just to show him that one of the original attractions from the 1964 World's Fair is still going strong, plus he could get a glimpse of what the future (at least for him) has become.

The Safari. Especially with the driver we had last time. Walt wanted Jungle Cruise to be like the Safari, with actual animals. So I think he would appreciate seeing a dream come to fruition. I'd also be hopeful that in order to get to the safari we'd have to walk through the whole park so he could see the immersive themes.

This is one of the things I would love to do.....Meeting the MAN, would be incredible... Just to pick his brain & take in all those creative thoughts.

1) WDW. Fantasmic....In one word Genius.
2) DLR. World of Color... The next level of genius....

I'm sure he would appreciate a ton of what everyone has already discussed, And yes the good far outweigh the bad, I'm sure hes not up there:rolleyes: (rollin eyes)...LoL.

I would show him Stich's Great Escape. Hopefully after seeing that he would come back and haunt the current powers that be and get them back on the right track.:)

I was going to say the same thing!

Choice between Soarin' (for the technology and Wow factor it has on 1st ride) or Primeval Whirl (because it is simple, good old fun & we always come off it in fits of giggles. I think Walt would appreciate that kind of reaction.)

Good question. Do we show Walt the latest and greatest accomplishments of the parks? Or do we show him something that misses the mark and needs some TLC? Hmm.
1. Not my favorite attractions, but Tower of Terror or Soarin' are great attractions that encompass several entertaining aspects.
2. Stitch's Great Escape and the dormant Wonders of Life could use some TLC

What a question! I've only been to Walt Disney World (my boss worked in Disneyland apparently) - so I'd have to say Soarin' ... but then I'd want to commandeer him and show him the whole park. Almost impossible to choose. I love Splash (won't miss it when I go) and Philharmagic ... hmmm ... choices, choices ... yes, I'll stick (reluctantly) with Soarin'

I was going to say Soarin' right off the bat but thinking it through I will go with American Adventure

Think he would enjoy the animatronics, the history and the music!!

I enjoy these types of questions - mostly because I have no singular answer when I start thinking.

A few things come to mind - the desire of Mr. Disney to immerse guests into an experience and keep them occupied.

-- It all started with a Mouse and Animation. The 3-D movies are wonderful. PhilharMagic shows the largest collection of classic Disney Characters than any other attraction. But I find Tough Bug/Bugs Life to go the extra step.

-- Disney's vision of the future was Animatronics. Small World & Carousel of Progress were born at 1964 World's Fair. I enjoy these and Haunted Mansion & Pirates too - Mr. Disney was alive when these were designed. He might have wanted to see Hall of Presidents. None of the new Animatronics is any better.

-- Splash Mountain - incorporates 'total immersion' and Animatronics with a well-themed and lengthy attraction. In a sense, it's Jungle Cruise with a Thrill, no jokes. Folklore suggests Mr. Disney loved Jungle Cruise.

-- Toy Story incorporates total immersion with a fun interactive ride.

-- Fantasmic! - new technology and fun for the entire family.

-- Interactive Comedy - Turtle Talk & Monsters Laugh.

-- Soarin' - the Attraction itself is very cool, but, in my view, it lacks the total immersion aspect.

Final Choices:
-- 3-D Movie (Bugs Life)
-- Splash
-- Toy Story
-- Soarin'
-- Fantasmic/Illuminations
-- Interactive Comedy

A good case can be made for each (and others).

I fall into the group that believes Mr. Disney, while having a sense of macabre, also wanted most attractions to still be family friendly and non-competitive. This notion eliminates Splash & Soarin' (Thrills are not for all), Toy Story (who likes losing?), Nighttime spectaculars can only been seen at night.....

I'm left with 3-D Movies and Interactive Comedy. All people do not like all jokes. Grumpy may not appreciate being 'That Guy' and 'Dude' may not be the best word to teach impressionable minds.......

So 3-D Movies. Tough Bug incorporates animation, animatronics, and a total immersion inside a gloriously beautiful tree.

It's Tough to Be a Bug is my choice.
