How early should we call to get our reservation modified? We have an existing ressie for POFQ from 11/28-12/2. Do these rooms sell out super fast with FD? Just curious if I need to be up at the crack of dawn....:confused3

Also, what time are the announcements usually made?

I would call as soon as you can. While it likely wouldn't sell out completely, some resorts (and POFQ in particular) have a very limited # of rooms available for free dining, and those rooms have to be available ALL the days of your trip. Unless you are OK with possibly changing resorts, I would call the first day.

If you want a specific room and/or a specific room category, then you need to call when Disney reservations opens up at 7 a.m. EST

It's always best to get in early. While it might take longer for a resort to sell out, standard rooms usually go very fast, if they're offered at all. I've found that POFQ is hard to get in general, so I'd be on the phone when the phone lines open.

Honestly, one of the main reasons to book early is if you're working with a TA because he or she will make you their first priority that morning (or they should). If you're booking on your own, you might as well wait and see unless you know you want to stay at that resort regardless of whether or not you get a discount.
