Ive been trying to figure out a way to afford a trip to orlando this year, but it was proving to be a bit too expensive for us. However, i won a £1000 bet yesterday for a £1.50 stake:banana::cool1::rotfl2:

So now that ive got the extra cash im looking to go in september.

Anybody any advice on the cheapest flights etc at that time of year? Doesnt appear to be any cheaper going from english airports rather than glasgow like it usually is.

Ideally id like to have flights, accomodation car hire and disney tickets for an absolute maximum of £900pp.

Will this be possible?

Depends where you want to stay.
We booked through onthebeach.com (they normally do cheap all inclusive beach holidays, but also florida :confused3). We booked ours way back in January though, but we're paying £700 each for 24th Sept - 8th Oct staying at Quality Inn Plaza on IDrive, this does not include park tickets though. But I've just bought mine from undercovertourist and saved £40 pp on our Disney tickets as we only want to go for a few days and now have a 6 day park hopper for cheaper than the UK 5 day one (but we're not fussed about water parks).
Oh yeah, our flights are with Thomas Cook and price includes the extras such as luggage and meals. :)

Hope that helps you a little.
Also, congrats on winning the bet! I'm rather jealous! :goodvibes

I have a better idea. Fly on 2nd October from Glasgow and come join me in the Sky Lounge so I can meet the person who gave me so much helpful advice on it! :goodvibes

Okay, seriously now ...

How long are you going for and how many people?

I doubt you will get park tickets thrown into the mix and come out under £900 pp though as that is already 25% of the budget eaten up even on 7 day premium passes.

One of the partners from the firm I work got Thomas Cook flight only from Glasgow to Sanford for 2 weeks time. He only booked within the last few weeks. They booked the villa online themselves. Not sure what they did for car hire as I didn't ask but as there are 6 of them so they would get a big car.

If you want onsite you are best staying at a moderate and up as it works out more to stay in a value during free dining and pay for your own food. I am sure you will post some more details and all the gurus will be along soon.

Congrats on that win :thumbsup2

expedia are doing indirect flights for just over £1300 with US/DELTA (12 hr flight with stop so a good flight for indirect) that was for 2 adults and a child.
You want on or off site? Hotels .com and expedia are doing some good deals and dont forget booking through quidco you get 12% with expedia and 10% (i think) with hotels.com. Try avro who use monarch. Skyscanner is a good flightsearch engine.
Let us know whos going and the parks visiting/carhire etc
I am going 22nd september and like others will tell you flights have been horrendous this year.I thought going september would be a little cheaper than august but flights for most months have been awful.Good luck and Im sure you will get something.Sometimes last minute and late deals are good.

I wont be staying onsite. Either LBV or I-Drive area i think would be best.

What price is a 5 day hopper?

Only going to be 2 of us going. Hotel doesnt need to be fancy, just clean and safe. Not like we'll exactly be spending much time in it!

Id maybe consider sacrifcing the car aswell to bring costs down, depending on where abouts the hotel was going to be. Been before without a car and vowed never again, however that was staying at POP, and disney dont make it easy to get offsite!

Id also consider going for ten days just so i get to go. The idea of going anywhere else on holida is just depressing!!

We've done the past two trips - 11 days each, flights, hotel (3* on I-Drive), park tickets (although US/SW/IOA/WnW/Aq), food, insurance, travel to/from airport, local transport in Orlando, shopping, drinks and all sundries for under £900 per person in the school Easter holidays. It's definitely possible.

The first thing you need to sort is flights, you can get indirect from London for £350 in the school holidays if you look around enough.

Kudos to you for predicting how terrible the Europeans would be, Italy scuppered me out of a few hundred. Always nice to see someone do well in the bookies with long odds.

Congrats on the bet, i got a decent one yesterday on argies, holland, algeria(bottom) houndourous (bottom) And italy not to win their group, but not that as much as a grand.
Anyway not sure we can have a betting chat on here, but ghana to win and rooney 1st goal tommorrow for me.

Cheapest I'd seen a 5 day premium was £225
Price I paid was £185 each inc postage. :goodvibes

Honestly, if you only want 5 day park access then you would be better off going through the US providers. You can get a base ticket if you don't care about park hopping - or add the hopper option. For the shorter stay tickets, you are usually better off buying them from the US. UK deals are great for 2 or 3 weeks, but not for the short stays.
