We just recently fully paid our September 7th 4 night sailing on the Dream, GTY 7A. I was feeling gutsy so I cancelled it in hopes that a VGT will come out after the 75 day mark. It will be so much better for our budget. We have a plan b which involves staying with family and just having an Orlando vacation if no rates are released but please send some extra pixie dust and prayers our way, lol. Thanks!

We are on that sailing. Hope we see you on board! :sail:

I've been hoping for a FLR to show up, but I'm not as much of a gambler as you are. Besides, we live in central FL. Nothing wrong with a staycation, just not what I have in mind. :beach:

We just booked a VGT for a 4 day in July on the Dream. I only understand that it is a guaranteed veranda 7a. I noticed a day or 2 later that this room type was gone. Are these only offered close to sail date? We were just trying to get something fairly economical, I think from reading Disboards that this is an obstructed view or something?

I pray you get what you are after. Monetarily it makes so much sense.

Good luck! I would have done the same, except we have family traveling with us and want to make sure we are together.

VGT rates are last-minute discounted rates. They come out after the regular pay-in-full date, and have some restrictions. You will be assigned ANY verandah room, not just a 7a.

Enjoy your cruise!

I think chances are good that a *GT rate would come out in September.

I currently have a cruise booked for Dec 6. It's an OBB. I'm ok with the price, but if I super sweet VGT rate is offered on the Sept 27 Fantasy sailing or the Sept 28 Dream I'll push back my OBB and sail in Sept. I love the warm Sept water, but I don't want to pay full price to sail in hurricane season. I'm thinking we'll start seeing the Sept GT rates pop up around the end of July. Good luck to you I'll be watching those prices with you.

An OBB can't be moved to *GT bookings. The last minute rates are for new bookings only. I got this from the DCL website:

When booking this restricted-fare category stateroom, please note the following:
• New bookings only. Existing reservations cannot be modified to these new categories.
• You are reserving a stateroom within the selected stateroom type: Inside, Oceanview or Verandah*.
Disney Cruise Line will assign your specific stateroom at a later time, based on remaining availability.
• Specific stateroom requests will not be accommodated.
• Full payment is required at the time of booking for all Guests and is non-refundable.
• Sail date and stateroom category changes are not permitted.
• The stateroom offer cannot be combined with any other discounted or promotional offer.
• Full legal names of all Guests are required at time of booking and no name changes are allowed.
• * Most Verandah staterooms include a private verandah with a clear plexiglass wall; some may include a solid white wall depending upon location. A limited number of Oceanview and Verandah staterooms may include a partially obstructed view.

I'm well aware of that I've sailed on GT rates many times. In my post I said I would push my OBB back meaning back to 2015.

Sorry, the way your post read: "if I super sweet VGT rate is offered on the Sept 27 Fantasy sailing or the Sept 28 Dream I'll push back my OBB and sail in Sept." I read as you would change your Dec OBB to the Sept 27 or 28 cruises for this year.

No problem. I have to Nov 31 2015 to use my OBB. I have booked on board every cruise, but I always get better deals with GT rates. My dh is getting of tired of asking his supervisor to switch his vacation dates so I think may have to change my ways next year.:crazy2:

I'm hoping one comes up end of August, so I'm with you in the waiting game! I look at Cruisefish every week and there seems to be a lot of cruises that have a high percentage of stateroom categories available this summer/fall compared with last year, so I think your chances are great.

The tough part is waiting!!!!! At the 75 day mark now. Come on vgt rates. LOL. I have to admit that I am a bit nervous that people from my cruise group are reporting Palo brunch is already full. I know I can go once on board and be put on a waiting list.......but I won't be guaranteed. If I can save a couple hundred bucks by getting a vgt rate I guess we could do Remy if it is still open. Isn't it normally slower to fill because of the price? I have to have something to obsess about....otherwise it wouldn't be normal vacation planning for me, haha.:thumbsup2
