I really think, as previous posters have stated, that this is a desperate measure to try to sell AKV and SSR to Californians. For those who bite, it probably is an emotional purchase that they might regret. (Of course, unless they really wanted WDW resorts).
Several of these purchasers will probably reconsider adding on GCV so soon after that large investment, and decide to just take their chances booking GCV at 7 months.
I really don't think this sales tactic will have that much impact on sales of GCV's. I'm sure anyone who wants to buy when sales are first available will be able. At least I hope so!![]()

We are much closer to DL than WDW. After more than six months of research we made the decision we wanted to buy. Dh has a conference in DL next month. In order to take advantage of the current incentives we decided to purchase now not later. Our decision to purchase at DL had nothing to do with the GC villas. Our decision was made before the Founding Members issue arose. We are taking this purchase very seriously. Flights alone are 2000 dollars for every trip. To make sure we were making an informed decision we are renting points off a member. We are flying 3000 miles to go and see AKV. (we were going to originally purchase in April but decided sooner was better than later). Please understand that not everyone makes this decision based on an emotional purchase. There are those of us who have done our homework
I feel we are in the crossfire. I really feel for the people who had their heart set on GC. What I don't understand is why they dont take substantial deposits from people who really have their heart set on these villas so they can get first dibs. Or those showing interest in full point purchases get first crack. I certainly do not think it is fair that newbie owners to be like us have first crack before loyal long time owners wanting to purchase full/partial points there. Those ding dongs that make an emotional purchse like the OP stated will regret it eventually and it will re-sale back to buyers for a cheaper price anyways. What goes around comes around.
