I was there last Thursday and how have to ask. . . . . . . . .

What the heck kind of cheap, crummy, delicate kind of coaster is that when it is less than 60 degress and/or 20 mile-an-hour winds it can't run? So, of course, Thursday, it was 57 and windy and no Rip Ride Rocket. I wonder, did Universal know this when they ordered it? That's pretty much all of the fall winter, and early Spring where weather conditions shut it down? Oh, the poor coaster can't handle to poor weather, sob, sob sob. How ridculous!

I live in Chicago, go to Six Flags all the time for Halloween, and they don't care what the temp or wind is, the coasters all run, and not just the wooden ones either, but all the metal ones with many loops and inverses and the like with no complaint what-so-ever! :thumbsup2

So, anyway, I go back on Sunday, and thankfully, it is 80 and no wind. Being a single rider, I only wait 10 minutes as compared to the posted 60 minute wait. And you know what, on a whole, the thing ranks. . . . . . . .

Wait for it. . . . . . . . . .

Here is comes. . . . . . . . . .

A big yawn. This coaster is very average. The only items of interst are the vertical lift hill and the initial twisted loop. Beyond that, it really doesn't add anything particularly new to the coaster world. The added attraction of music doesn't add much to the coaster experience. I was in row 6 and for my second trip row 1. Both left me with a "eh" sort of feeling. It isn't fast, it is short, it can be rough on occasion (my 2nd ride was quite bumpy), it isn't high and it isn't "thrilling", I just didn't find a "thrill" factor on it. I couldn't wait to get off it and go back to IOA for a couple of real coasters.

Dueling Dragons and Hulk are much better. Each has a "wow" factor or factors and gives me the Roller Coaster high that I am looking for. RRR left me flat, which, considering how sensitive it is to weater conditions, makes me give it just a 3 out of 10.

Like I said, Hulk and DD are better, as is Rock'N'Roller coaster at Hollywood Studios and Manta at Seaworld and just about any coaster at Cedar Point in Ohio (you're roller coast) and Six Flags between Chicago and Milwaukee. Lose the glitter and put in the thrill.

I'm surprised to hear the bad reviews. I mean on the operational front right now, it currently earns about an F+. But I think the coaster is really fun.

It doesn't need to be the tallest or most thrilling, especially for a park like the Studios. The song selection will keep it from becoming stale and I bet some night rides will be a blast too. I think for a coaster that was shoehorned in a small part of the park, I think it's a great addition. But now they need to get the thing to actually work.

I'm curious. Since the coaster opened, has Guest Services been a nightmare?

Because it's a Mauer-Sohne and it's the only one of its kind in the U.S.? I don't know the history of that company or if they're familiar with the elements in Florida...

I'm hoping the reliability improves but I can't really blame Universal for this as much as Mauer-Sohne

Six Flags Great America does close coasters down when the temps drop.

I can't begin to tell you the number of times I have been in the line in October for some of the rides when they are shut down.

There are some of them that will not operate when the temps drop to a certain number.

For your question about RRR3, i'm not any help.
It's not my favorite coaster ride.

My heart still belongs to Dueling Dragons.

Yep, when we lived in Chicago I remember many chilly mornings that the steel coasters were shut down. They would eventually open as the day got warmer. None of them valleyed in strong winds like the Rockit does, but the Demon did get stuck upside in a loop once...remember that?

Wow that's not good to hear as I love riding coasters in cold weather.Apparently it valleys after the loop and they have to pull up the car to the hill with the mid course brake.Honestly I'm not very impressed with HRRR,I'm happy I got another coaster at one of my most visited parks and there's no point in getting angry at Universal for not going with B&M for this coaster. Here's a video ofTopThrill Dragster in Cedar Point,a coaster that has issues when it's cold as it doesn't make it over the hill, but at least you get the awesome rollback sensation and another go at the ride.

I agree with the topic poster completely. Rockit isn't that great. I like both the hulk and dueling dragons coasters better. Rockit is too rough every time I ride it. The Hulk is a little rough too but it didn't start out that way..when it first opened... Also the launch makes up for that..

I just rode Manta for the first time and the first drop/loop whatever it is..hurt my neck/head.. I couldn't wait for that part be over.. I just rode it once while I rode Kracken over and over..love that ride..my fav parts being the spinning drop and the part right before going into the tunnel and looking down at the crowd..

Kraken is too darned rough for me; I like Manta and did it 20 times in a row with Quick Queue this year, but I agree that the one part is downright vicious. My favorite central FL coaster is SheiKra for the airtime. I love Montu as well. Dueling Dragons bows down to Montu; it's the perfect B & M suspended. HRRR is fun in row six but it doesn't dazzle me like SheiKra does. I just like it because it's a hometown coaster and the lift reminds me of the old Tobaggan ride but I'd trade it for SkeiKra or Montu any day (or Magnum if we're talking Cedar Point) any day.
